Re: Sam Soliman vs Giovanni Lorenzo in IBF final Elimantor
We have been watching NRL/AFL/Tennis and Football (Soccer) streams on moblie phones since the early 2000's. Computers/laptops/Iphones -Ipads/ Note pads bla bla bla - Its all about freedom mate. The internets everywhere now - Phuck being locked into a contract for home viewing payTV only. You stream it - you control it - everyone gets to see it live. Lets say 5000 people paid for a $10 stream to watch Sam vs Gio = thats $50,000 bucks (Which you prob could have had if?). Anyway you dont need to be computer literate to set up a few wireless cameras into a laptop and stream fights on your own website.kylamy wrote:Why not show the fights Via live PPV internet feed/Stream?. It does work and you get more world wide coverage - Also it means we can watch it almost anywhere.
So TV politic's is no real excuse any more with the internet there.
Look i really cannot answer that one, but it does sound sensible, maybe not enough is known about it as yet, I have never watched a stream, im a dumbo when it comes to computer's etc though.
The Aurora channel are trying to shows as much combat sports as they can, and there is always a fight of some description on almost any night.
Paris production's, a Melbourne based production company are doing a very good job in Victoria and even travelling to Perth for some Muay Thai events etc, they're showing all their product on Aurora and it is an real alternative to Fox sports, and a lot cheaper,
There is a fair amount of politics with Fox, and the selection of their shows, and just who get's them each month as well, So perhaps this live video streaming is the way to go, if you can work a computer etc.
I would have a look at it, but i have also heard the quality sometimes can be a little average, but like everything, perhaps it's just early days and this will improve.

Yep, that was a very impressive run by Sam there after the first Mundine fight. Between the first two Mundine fights i believe he only lost to wright? And it was a close fight to.kylamy wrote:thunderfromdownunder wrote:Good for Sam.
I thought he was do e after the second Mundine fight, but he has recovered well. Super middleweight was never good for him. Hopefully now he can finally get his shot at his best weight
Thunder, I agree with you totally.
Sammy, after each fight with Choc at Super Middle, has virtually gone away and re-invented himself, he is like Dulux, "Just keeps on keeping on"
After their first fight, a hotly disputed SD loss in Sept 2001, he went on to string together 19 wins on the trot, and against some very good opponents, not just here in Australia, but also in the UK, Europe, USA and Japan, then he lost to Choc again in March 2007 and again in May 2008, in between those two fights he only had 3 fights for 2 wins and 1 loss to Sakio in LA, but after the last loss to Choc in May 2008, he has strung together another 6 wins.
His performance last Friday night against a very good opponent, was nothing short of amazing for a 38 year old giving away 7 years in age to his younger opponent, 13 centimetres in reach and 9 centimetres in height, he really turned it on, his skill level and fitness was as good as ive ever seen, he simply bamboozled and frustrated Giovanni Lorenzo.
Now whether those skills and fitness are enough to negate the tremendous skills of Daniel Geale, i just don't know, but he certainly made a statement and has earned a shot after two elimination bouts to get into the #1 mandatory position, so good luck to him.
I am thinking that Daniel Geale can defeat Felix Sturm this weekend, his steely determination and tremendous skills and fitness will all be asked some questions by Sturm, but i genuinely believe that Dan can get the win, which will see an all Aussie World title gig here in either Tassie or Melbourne, but either way, Australian fight fans will and should be the big winners.
That's the perfect script, whether all goes to the script is another thing, lets hope anyway.
I remember him being mandatory for the IBF back when Hopkins was middleweight champ.
