And why isn't the boxing gym open to the public I would of thought people around that area who join would like to use his gym as I would if I joined his gym

So you don't think Sky would be interested in showing any of the Hatton comeback?

If it were to happen and he got a World Title fight in the US, surely a few thousand would still travel over? It's not even been confirmed and it was back page news in today's paper. That's got to at least get Johnny's top button opening up on Ringside.

I saw Ricky yesterday at his Gym, and I have to say he looked in fine fettle.
He's shed just over 3st.
He's living right that's for sure - hot chocolate has replaced guinness !!!

I think the denials from Ray Hatton is just to try and make it more of a shock. These rumours have been widely circulated since the begining of the summer - without any real refuting from Ricky or his team until now (and that's not from the man himself).

Interestingly, Hatton's friends within boxing (the likes of Jamie Moore) have also been quiet on the situation.

I'm pretty sure it is happening. It will be one hot ticket for sure, and I hope he has something left. He is still young enough.

I don't want to see this happen. I think Malignaggi would beat him, but if Hatton did win and got a fight with a big name he would take a bad beating.

Malignaggi is fighting Cano next (he should get passed him) and he is lining up a fight with Salita in the near future.... so maybe Hatton isn't on his immediate horizon.

I was thinking though after a warm up.... Hatton vs Morales. That would be one of the biggest boxing matches on these shores ever - and maybe a winnable one.

I do find it a bit odd that no-one seems to be giving Hatton a chance against Malignaggi. We are not talking Mayweather, Pacquiao or even Khan here. I don't think for one second Malignaggi is any better than the time he fought Ricky.

Neither do I, thing is I think Hatton looked poor against Lazcano after the Mayweather loss and after the way Pacquiao blitzed him and all that's happened since I can see Hatton being very poor. Hope I'm wrong though.

I would say the only reason Ricky would shed 3 stone and dedicate himself like he has, would be for the chance of a comeback. It's definitely in the offing, I'm sure there will be a lot of testing the water in the gym and in sparring sessions though before anything is decided properly. If he starts getting battered in the gym during sparring then they will hopefully know to knock it on the head.

I certainly don't think coming back against Malignaggi straight away would be a wise move at all, RIcky has been inactive for so long whereas Malignaggi has been in great form and operating around world level, not a good move, there would have to be some sort of fairly easy-ish warm-up fight surely.

In the 4 weeks prior to the Lazcano fight, Hatton had a serious infection and couldn't withdraw due to 55,000 tickets being sold. I spoke to him in his changing room 30 minutes before he warmed up and he sounded snotty even then.

It was his last bout under Billy Graham. His next fight against Paulie, his first under Lee Beard, I thought was one of his best and most patient performances.

I can understand he is a fighter & his defeat was pretty humiliating to his ego is like him to have some low level fights or fight as i think he shouldn't go straight in the deep end as he could be seriously hurt IMO.

Ricky is just like us ordinary people - I know this because he says so at every opportunity (whilst talking about himself in the third person).
