:o your opinion of course but your reading too much into his display against Murray i think. Mighty Kev?....in your eyes maybe. Regardless, i see Burns having the edge.

If his training is going as good as you say, we can assume it will be the Mitchell that destroyed Murray who turns up and if THAT Mitchell turns up it will be a terrific fight i think, but i still have burns....just.

All in all, and to be honest this is all that counts really, it'll be a great great fight i reckon and one things for sure we all can't wait for it!

There's no one having it easy in this one; I imagine both winner and lose will be marked and hurt. Anyone thinking that this is a stroll for either man is far too biased. Burns is more steady and consistant and Mitchell is a chilling hitter and very precise. I feel that at Lightweight, where Burns looks very comfortable; Katsidis was ripe or the taking d that Moses weren't really a proper 'World Title' level challenge. Mitchell is a career lightweight and even his jab is hard, he is brilliant at the bob and weave and doesn't counter every time he can; he makes tham count. Could be fight of the year.

A former 9st 4 British and Commonwealth champion does not make a career lightweight.

No; I was wong, you are right.

Corrected as I am; Mitchell is the boxer more accustomed to lightweight; I just feel that he has the extra 'pop' and strength. Ricky would have well outpointed John Murray but not bust him up, dropped and stopped him.

We'll all see in 3 weeks :TU:

Yep everyone looking forward to it that's for sure, maybe I am reading to much into the Murray fight, I just think others are reading to much into the burns win over katsidis !
I strongly believe Mitchell is the more complete natural boxer, who after this one (if he wins) deserves alot of credit !

Because all in all we are a very knowledgable forum !
Or was that because it was a more predictable result ?
Now you would think Mitchell v burns is a 50/50 fight but that's see what the poll results produce !
Mitchell being the underdog is fine by me as I'm going to win even more money !

why would you think that? what world level fighter has mitchell beat?

I agree Mitchell should have the better dig defo. Both men have good chins too do I'd rule out an early stoppage. Could get gruelling in there.

I would admit that burns has fought at a slightly higher level since they both fought Johansan, and burns has improved more too, I would say Murray and Prescott were his best results and there's a case they wernt world class themselves although they have both mixed it at world level, but then there's a case for most people not being world class just because they have mixed it (but lost).
I believe Kevin was a far superior amateur then Ricky and a more natural boxer, Ricky is better defensively but doesn't have a punch to get him out of trouble like Kevin does.
It's in my mind there toughest test on paper yet, but I feel this is all or nothing for kev, and he seems to be good when it's all on the line, Murray was a must win fight and he looked great, Prescott was a fight that everybody slates now, but at the time he was in with a big puncher when he didn't need to be, this fight is all or nothing for kev and that's when you can count on him !

Reluctantly I've gone Burns on points......
When ricky beats Kevin why on earth do you think we'd want to give him a rematch and especially at west ham?

feel free to shoot me down if im wrong, but i think he meant by 3 or 4 rounds on the cards, not a stoppage in 3 or 4 like it seems that you took it. will be a good fight, think burns wins close but comfortably, beaten better fighters and is much more mature than in his losses! whereas mitchell had an 'off' night in the biggest night of his career, and this is the next biggest night of his career and he needs to be at his best for this one!

i wont mind if im proven wrong, i like both guys

so far 75% of voters believe Ricky will win this fight.....although I'm one of them I really hope I'm wrong this time.....Kevin can win this if he fights his best fight to date. Ricky is a consistent fighter.

Hope Tibbs has a good game plan!

If Kevin can't get up for this one then there's no way for him to make it in boxing; Jimmy Tibbs has lots and lots of top level experience; he knows what he is doing. Kevin can fight and he can box - I'd say he's the hardest and cleanest hitter that Ricky will have faced. We'll all see soon enough; (I might put a cool million on Mitchell to win by KO :OhYes: )

I'm going for Burns in this one, I think he'll win a close and possibly ugly decision. If Mitchell can get his work on the inside better he has a chance, if he allows Burns to hold and clinch then Mitchell wil lose.

Ricky has developed into a very good boxer, who judges the distance of attacks better than most, he also has alot of heart and belief , and he's the defending champion. Mitchell has proven he can come through hell to win fights, and he will have more natural strength, but I think the Murray fight might have taken something out of him, and Burns has the edge on speed.

Just watching the head to head on allegedly. And how refreshing it is just to listen to both boxers just tralking about the fight without all the bullsh*t and postering that we've had to put up with in recent months with other boxers.
