Ben Villaflor v. Rolando Navarrete.

Post by Rover »

Best super feather from the Philippines of the 70s v. the best super feather from the Philippines of the 80s.
I don't know much about Villaflor; only have his second fight with Serrano.
Both could punch, though Villaflor might have the better chin, as he was never KO'd.
I'm sure that some of the many informed contributors here can be helpful with this one.

Thought I'd bump this since Villaflor's been coming up.
Villaflor by KO or clear decision; I've become much better informed on him.

Lando is a real G. He makes the news here in the Philippines on a regular basis. Either he's getting stabbed, hit with bats or beaten by a small mob. Or he stabs people, beats his live-in partner black and blue or goes to the local police station, asks the police chief to let him in the jail and just beats inmates up. He'd ask an inmate what he's in for and as the inmate starts answering, he'd just start throwing combos on them. LOL

Why do they let him in the jail?

God knows. The local police just lets him do it.
Lando basically is a little insane now. He walks all day in GenSan and gets into fights.
He'd sometime end up near a police jail and asks the police there to let him in. And sometimes they do let him in and just picks up fights.

Sounded like a nice guy after the fight with Boza.
Too bad he's deteriorated.

Lando was never a nice guy. His nickname when he was still fighting local fights was "The Bad Boy from Diadiangas". He used to spit at his opponents when they are at the center of the ring being explained the rules. And he spent time in jail for raping. I believe he also spent time in jail in Hawaii.

I cant really tell you when. But I remember when he was still fighting he got in the news for allegedly raping a woman here. And then he spent time in jail for raping another one in the US.

I tried wikipedia but no date is said.
He spent three years in a US prison for rape. Navarrete was also recently involved in various police complaints for wife battery and drugs.[2]
