Re: Pan Am under nineteen championships
It´s a shame the american continents countries can´t even afford to send their best youths. Only five countries participating with 35 boxers...All but two are guaranteed a medal
. Six boxers reached the finals without even winning once...compare that to the last European Youths with 206 boxers from 35 countries.
Europe won 23 medals at the Olympics (out of 40), which makes 57,5% of the medals. America won 6 medals from 2 countries (15%) and Asia won 11 medals/7 countries (27,5%). Africa and Oceania didn´t medal.
The US start to get back to the top hasn´t started well...

Re: Pan Am under nineteen championships
USA Boxing has to sort out a lot of internal things first before we start rebuilding. The USOC hasn't decided yet if they are going to drop the hammer on USAB for the dismal perfomance in London. If they do, that won't help but only set USAB back further. I think USAB is trying to be proactive by hiring Predo Roque to help turn things around.locoxelbox wrote:It´s a shame the american continents countries can´t even afford to send their best youths. Re: Pan Am under nineteen championships
I understand the dissapointment of the USOC but statistically the US team won one gold and one bronze (counting the women). That should count for something shouldn´t it?
