Who really has the best record and can claim to be champ?
Who really has the best record and can claim to be champ?
Just curious as to opinions.
Is it Eder Jofre? He's done some pretty good stuff this season. Enough to own the Lonsdale
Joe Louis? Triple belter
Mike Tyson? Current WTF'er

I think the Leonards IBO > Tyson's WTF, as the original WTF was merged into the IBO when Sanchez lost to Gomez. Tyson is on a good run, but has to be below the IBO for now. Leonard has the WBF lineage. Jofre has the lineage of all Loius's titles and Pep's WBC is yet to be unified.
Jofre (WBA, IBF, WBO), R Leonard (IBO & WTF) and Pep (WBC) hold the original lines.
Louis (WBA, IBF, WBO), Pep (WBC), R Leonard (IBO) and Tyson (WTF) hold belts.
Jofre is champ in my eyes, but we aren't in undisputed territory, yet

None of this matters much.
Duran shall systematically break through this rabble and destroy any Bennys, or Bjorns, or Rocks, in his way.

^^^^Yup
The IBO, WBU & WTF titles don't really matter anyway, they're just stepping stone titles

Obviously it is Joe Louis. The other options are cute, though.

Benny Leonard's record surpasses Jofre's in my eyes. It's between Leonard and Louis.
At this moment in time, I'd have to go with Benny Leonard.
But Robinson is worth a shout too.

Louis' hard fought victory over Leonard gives him the nod in that argument. At least until they dance again.

Answer is:
Joe Frazier.......!!!
He banged Benny around like Leonard was a toddler who had haplessly wandered into a combine....and then because of "bias" was subsequently robbed by the judges. That was NO DRAW

Also worth noting that only Duran, Louis and Leonard have won the right to unify their belt(s) this season. Louis unified twice, but Jofre beat him and hasn't lost since. I can see the Lonsdale being in the hands of TMDT winner, so there would be two huge claims. Especially if the WBC gets collected together with the other belts.

What fight were you watching son? Someone should have gone to Specsavers. Benny had his way with Joe, made him his bitch.

Pep brought his WBC into the MDT, and plans to walk away with it. The winner of the MDT has a huge claim to being the top dog, given the number of quality opponents he will have to beat. The MDT is what boxing needs more of.

Indeed. There is a vast number of highly-ranked competitors in the MDT this season. In fact, only Joe Louis is the only absentee from the top 16 field.Deadendgeneration wrote:Pep brought his WBC into the MDT, and plans to walk away with it. If Louis still holds all his trinkets when the tourney ends he will gladly defeat the winner of it for all the marbles.
