CANADIAN BOXING HALL OF FAME

Over the last six or so months there has been much discussion concerning
the status of the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame.

There are hopes the the hall can be revived, replaced or renewed.

Looking through the long list of inductees many of the boxers are
worthy members of hall of fame. But, there is no detailed profile
for every inductee at the present time, or if there is then it must
be in some old brown paper bag tucked away in some dusty old
corner of some basement in Toronto. Recently, somebody released
the names up to 1998 or so. What has happened in the last 14 years
would take a wild guess

Attempts are being made to revive the hall by some reliable folks, but
to have an official building and equipment can not be done in a jiffy.

So the big question, is does one create a fresh new hall and
carry all the names forward or start over from scratch and review
all names entered and cherry pick the names for the cream of the crop

There were concerns that in the later years some of the inductees would not have
made it in if the same detail was given as in the early years. So somewhere between
common sense and convenience decisions need to be made.

I didn't even know there ever was a Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame.
If it is going to be revived, I think you have to incude anyone that has been voted in. You can't just start from scratch. As for the results since 1998, surely there has to be some way to find out who was selected in that time period.

IF A NEW HALL - then start from scratch.
* the old hall living members are still members and have every opportunity to
promote their achievements, and many of them would likely get picked
for a new real hall with a specific location. Some, likely would not get picked
for a ring full of reasons.
