Even though Reid is way past his best it should be watchable while it lasts. I'd prefer Anderson-Smith.
Re: Kenny anderson vs Robin reid 20th october
Am guessing kenny wins this by ko, then takes a quick voluntary then smith,, least hes gettin a shot, kenny ko round 7

Kenny should have far too much for old Rob, surely?

He should do. Saying that Reid absolutely smashed Dan Cadman last time out.dondada wrote:Kenny should have far too much for old Rob, surely?

Would still be his best win thoughdondada wrote:Kenny should have far too much for old Rob, surely?

I don't understand all the Kenny love. I dig that he briefly floored Groves, but he's going down the road of making his name off the back of it. I have a feeling Reid has something in the tank, enough to take this fight and outwork Kenny. Reid was disheartened after the Ottke con, lost his way, lost his supreme fitness and conditioning. If there's something burning inside Reid's belly, he'll win this.
Re: Kenny anderson vs Robin reid 20th october
And Adam Booth said he and Groves had every intention of fighting Kenny.................
Groves is a class above anyway but I want to see Kenny get his career back on track

Whilst I agree with your confusion at the amount of love Anderson gets - the thought of Reid outworking an opponent, 10 years ago let alone now, baffles me?Bronxbull666 wrote:I have a feeling Reid has something in the tank, enough to take this fight and outwork Kenny

Be nice to see Reid do the biz but can see Anderson getting the stoppage via an accumulation of shots to the body.

He out worked Ottke and most of those before him. Anderson is too static, he misuses his skills, can't find a way in against a rangey fighter, forces his way in and it is to his detriment. Reid, 7th round KO.Lenny wrote:Whilst I agree with your confusion at the amount of love Anderson gets - the thought of Reid outworking an opponent, 10 years ago let alone now, baffles me?Bronxbull666 wrote:I have a feeling Reid has something in the tank, enough to take this fight and outwork Kenny

outworking Ottke is roughly equivalent to outperforming the financial services sector of Sierra Leone, or Moldova.

Nice analogy!Counter-puncher wrote:outworking Ottke is roughly equivalent to outperforming the financial services sector of Sierra Leone, or Moldova.
As I originally was saying though, the Ottke defeat is what ruined Reid. No one can deny Reid was a busty, fit, well conditioned fighter before that. Even his slick hairstyle went downhill.

Sorry mate, I just can't see Reid being described as a busy fighter. Each to theirs I supposeBronxbull666 wrote:Nice analogy!Counter-puncher wrote:outworking Ottke is roughly equivalent to outperforming the financial services sector of Sierra Leone, or Moldova.

You could be right.Bronxbull666 wrote:If there's something burning inside Reid's belly, he'll win this.
He previously skipped domestic titles and went straight in for the WBC - although I think he did later challenge for the British title but was unfortunate to meet Carl Froch who was on his ascendency.
He has the experience, still has a dig, doesn't ever look out of shape etc. so this will be an interesting fight.

Lol, Reid's workrate was always his downfall, he just loved to stand there with his low left hand, have a look, and not do anything for most of the round.
I am a big fan of Reid but he knew he had to pace himself in every fight because he just wasn't built to be a volume puncher.

This fight will be a slugfest. Two plodding, bangers.

He said he isn't. Just having a break, he seems heavily involved (non sexual) with his gym mates on fight nights. The Dark Destroyer wrote:Is Paul Smith retired now?

Re: Kenny anderson vs Robin reid 20th october
i think its a decent match up, reid is still british title level, last thing to go is your punch, anderson is yet to prove he is british title level. reid could even old man him for the early rounds then stop anderson late on. equally anderson could stop reid in the first half of the fight, the longer it goes the bigger shout reid has.
Re: Kenny anderson vs Robin reid 20th october
Anderson was on the floor in one of his recent fights and Groves also stopped him. Reid might be able to do the same, he smashed Cadman.
