Joey Vincent and Vince Nerathka are the Same Fighter

are the same fighter. Joey Vincent's real name (which is listed on his record) is
Vince Nerathka.

We need some more evidence, what is the source of this ?

If you check out Joey Vincent's boxrec record, his real name was Vince Nerathka. Also, the Joey Vincent record lists some early fights in Ohio.

The Vince Nerathka record lists fights from Ohio. Nerathka moved to Orlando and reinvented himself as Joey Vincent. Same fighter. Same name. Same weight. Some years active.

We can't determine who entered Joey Vincent's real name as Vince Nerathka. Is there another source that can vouch for that.

I was basing it on what I saw on the two records in boxrec. I assumed with the same name,that it was the same fighter.

However, in the 1980 Ring Record Book, on page 147 there is Willie "The Worm" Monroe's fight record. On Nov. 11, 1969 in Philadelpia it lists Monroe knocking out Vince Nerathka in 1 round.

On page 214 of the same book, there is Joey Vincent's record. On Vincent's record, it lists him being knocked out in one round by Willie Monroe on Nov. 11,1969 in Philadelphia.

So, I assume by those entries that Joey Vincent is Vince Nerathka.

The guy who boxed Willie Monroe at the Blue Horizon in 1969 definitely fought under the name Vince Nerathka. He went to Philly having been booked by Tommy Shaffer, the figthting barber from Uniontown, PA, who fought Boogaloo Watts on the same show.

I can say for sure yes. I know Joey and he has told me about his day's before Orlando. I also fought him three times.

Back in those day's it wasn't uncommon to mix amateurs and pro's on the same card. In Lake City and Fernandina Bch we did that so that we could bring the young fighters along and help them turn pro when they were ready. In about 1981 or so the state boxing commision disallowed that and gyms shut down across the state. That ruined boxing in Florida.
