You will need to contact your LBC (local boxing committee) to get registered with USAB and attend an officials clinic to get certified. Then they should work you into the officals rotation.

Musashi sent me a link that was a form to become a member of USA Boxing. will i need to do that before i contact or a LBC or will that naturally happen through the process you described?
I would contact the LBC first because each LBC has a person who handles registrations so they will tell you where to send it and how much. Usually by this time of year, the membership fee is prorated as we go by the calendar year. Also, depending on where you live and what LBC you are in and how screwed up USAB is at the moment, it may be awhile before they have an officials clinic.

You can also email me at [email protected]. I can refer you to a contact and give you info on becoming an official.

Just to set expectations, in the amateurs, Don King will not try and buy your vote with the proverbial 'suitcase full of money.' I was disappointed when I found out, alas :-)
