Matthysse, for all his lack of craft, is just a ridiculously strong, tough, heavy-handed son of a bitch. His last seven have included Judah, Alexander, Olusegun & Soto, & it's not like any of them were coming off a string of beatings, either. You've just got to watch him, haven't you? & fair play to Olusegun, but he just couldn't live with the power, & he couldn't budge the man in front of him.
LMM is stylistically & physically Khan's worst nightmare made flesh, so I don't think that'd be a good idea for Amir, particularly not coming off a traumatic loss.
(On the other foot, I was saddened & sickened to see Matthysse's cut off his rat's-tail. Another stupid haircut bites the dust. But the previously mentioned Senor De Leon is fighting next week, so there's still hope that I can bring my top-secret dossier Datsue's Dopey Haircut Report 2012 to completion.)

Great fight. Matthysse is never in a dull one. He seems to be getting better with every fight. You've got to feel for Olusegun, he's been waiting years for his chance and he comes up against the hardest puncher in the division.
Re: Olusegun v Matthyse
Would love to see Matthysse in with Bradley now, would be an excellent fight and with my best knee jerk reaction, I'm going to say Matthysse stops him in a fight of the year contender.
Khan would never be able to last 12 rounds, he'd probably start okay but would need a ring like an Olympic track to stay out of trouble.
Haven't seen his fight with Judah, I've heard he was robbed but how the hell did it go the distance?

Yeah Judah got lucky indeed !
I'm sure Judah bangs Mattysse with an absolute rocket, who just grins and beckons him in.
Maybe Khan thinks if Judah can beat him, then so can him.

Re: Olusegun v Matthyse
Ajose made it a great fight especially after such inactivity. He actually seemed to be coming on at the end as Matthyse looked like he was starting to wilt first from the high pace unbelievably. He could have been allowed to continue i think but i dont have any complaints either Lucas would have scored a stoppage or even with his lowering output he would have got a wide UD.
Ajose was very gracious in the after fight interview so i really hope that Showtime are now anxious to put him on again as soon as he is ready.

I can't believe Olusegun didn't go down until he did. Showed he had a great chin (if not a great defence). Was really impressed with his heart, but he lost every round bar maybe 1 or 2.

He WAS robbed and even worse so against Devon Alexander. His record should show 0 defeats.

Whilst he is a monster, I do think the hardcore (er, us) over-rate the boy. As I said to Counter-puncher the other day, he's forum bait: big hitter, unlucky, flawed just enough to make you think he can get his shit together, fan-friendly, blocks punches with his face. He used to have a stupid haircut, too, which is only ever a positive.
The Judah fight, he spent five rounds staring at Judah & walking the wrong way whilst being jabbed. Then he began to make his strength tell, & Judah barely got out of jail. Mathematics said "Judah wins", the heart goes "B-bu-bu-bu-but Matthysse had him!" The heart cannot count, however.
Same with Devon (though that was even closer, I thought a draw or one point either way). But he beat the fvck out of Devon, which I don't think he really did with Judah (who's far more slippery), & when one guy beats the fvck out of another but loses on points, people don't care to actually add up their scorecards properly.
