Was bob not in hattons gym where he already works when he got the call?Vaudeville Villain wrote:Kerry Kayes interview in which he provides a different take on the comeback. I would have posted this in a general thread, but I think it is a bit different so have popped it in here. Kayes is for the return for a number of reasons and he has a different take on the health aspect.

Bob Shannon's up next with a poignant little story about where he was when he got the call.

That Kay's interview was a decent interesting perspective, Ricky was pissing his wedge away in an unhealthy destructive manner and people need goals in life to move them forward.
I wonder if Hatton had a goal promoting his fighters but now that rugs been pulled maybe that's the spark that got him wanting a go again to prove he's not out the game yet.

if he can't deal with not having a fight to get ready for etc...and the focus that gives him then all the comeback is achieving is putting that off isn't it.
I'm sure Hatton is still a hugely competent fighter but I don't think he likely to be able to win at the highest level.
As handily as he beat Malignaggi in 2008/9...I think Malignaggi could be too fit for him 2nd time around and in any case could he even get down to that weight?
I think he should stay retired, coming back means getting hit more and that's no good as he gets older.
I can't see him being skint as some people suggest...sure coke isn't THAT dear is it? Even though it's no disgrace whatsoever to get taken out by a beast like Pacquiao I reckon he must have found it very hard to deal with.

Bad
I really like Kerry Kayes but his argument is faulty. Of course training and losing weight is much better than what he was doing; but taking part in professional boxing matches is not.
I'm sure he'll still need discipline in his life when he's 45 and fat and drinking too much but i don't suppose Kerry will be recommending he stages another comeback.
It also might be counteractive in that we are now hearing about and seeing replays of his Pacquiao annihilation when the focus had been taken off this and put onto his promoting.
It's a shame he can't just stay in the gym and see if he can out train and out spar his boxers.
