Frampton - Molitor

Looking forward to this on Saturday night at the Odyssey. Good undercard too.

A good crossroads fight for Frampton which I think he’ll learn a lot from. Molitor has declined a lot in the last two or three years and I think Frampton wins by a clear decision.

How do you all see it going?

I think it's a quality step up for Frampton, great Commonwealth title fight, which I think should be more common. Hopefully Frampton looks good,I think a late stoppage 10-12.

It would great if Carl could knock him out and make a really big statement. Will be interesting to see if 'boxes' Molitor like he did with the Mexican in his last fight or whether he is more aggressive. It will be his first fight in Belfast as the main attraction at a big event and, while that will spurn him on, hopefully he doesn't get careless as a result

Don't think there's much danger, you can pick your shots against Molitor. Saturday night is going to be top notch, hope the two main events don't clash.

A stoppage from Frampton would be a statement even at this stage of Molitors career. Molitors not been very active though I think Frampton UD.

Molitor went off the boil with huge family problems if i remember correctly, from memory didn't his brother get banged up for murdering his mrs or something ?

EDIT: Jeremy Molitor, a stand-out amateur and commonwealth games gold medalist, stabbed his ex-girlfriend 58 times and left her to bleed to death in her car. He was under a restraining order at the time to leave her alone.

I think Frampton stops him, Molitor isn't the same fighter you fought. The Caballero beating took a lot out of him. He struggled with Booth and went life or death in his last fight.

Frampton will be looking to do a number on him in front of his home crowd

I'll take my chances at evens for the KO/TKO win. I also think the stoppage will come late so will cover rounds 9/10/11/12 for small stakes.

I can see this fight going a number of ways but I'm going for the most impressive.

Early TKO - The crowd will be buzzing, Frampton will feel the roar of the crowd with every shot landed and he will hunt his man down. I can see him going at Molitor like a buzzsaw from the very beginning and getting through. Moiltor has never been a 'big puncher' and I think Carl can take a shot, although this is something we'll need to see tested a little more, but basically I see Frampton overwhelming Molitor in 3-5 rounds.

I don't like how Molitor has stated that 'he will retire' if he loses to Frampton. I think that he's making an excuse to himself before the fight, that once it gets tough in there, he can quit. Hope I'm wrong on that and he fires back but can't see it. Never good to have the word 'quit' in your mind in any sport let alone when ten thousand screaming Irishmen are baying for your blood.

That's the way I see it but would back Molitor with a small cover on the stoppage as the odds are so wide.

Very good fight! Really looking forward to it, I can see Molitor really frustrating Frampton with his elusive skills and speed. Frampton likes to set his feet and throw in combinations, and Molitor can use his experience to not allow this to happen. However the last few fights Molitor has been easier to hit and his movement not as good as his peak so Frampton could out strength him and push him back. Should he a good one

I think he'll stop Molitor in rounds 7-9. I know Molitor is an experienced fighter , but short (ish) notice, slight decline is pointing towards a stoppage for me.

Molitor may have declined but isn't in the 'shot' category. A very respectable step up for Frampton.
