Re: What has happened to joe Murray
isn't Mike Marsden his manager? joe is his trainer, Ricky Hatton is the promoter!
Re: What has happened to joe Murray
he withdrew from a british title eliminator with smith (well both lads did) and his team didnt take up the option of fighting for the english title after winning the purse bids at the end of last season after 2 failed attemps earlier in the year to stage it, none of which were joes fault tv and an injury to chris 10 days b4 the second fight shame it never happend. his had a very frustrating time id expect to see him on the hatton undercard in an 8 rounder imo
Re: What has happened to joe Murray
I like Joe & think he can go places, but his career is going far too slow.

This is a really annoying situation, all too common with British prospects. They should be fighting 6 times a year at least, whether it be 4 rounders or 12 rounders. No-one has to be rushed, and people do get on a fighter's back when they amass 20+ unbeaten fights against below par opposition these days, but it's getting silly now.
Re: What has happened to joe Murray
he did an interview with boxing scene and his contract is to fight at least 4 times a year and last year he fought twice and according to boxrec no date set for next fightBronxbull666 wrote:This is a really annoying situation, all too common with British prospects. If thats the case then he should walk away from the contract.maley1984 wrote:he did an interview with boxing scene and his contract is to fight at least 4 times a year and last year he fought twice and according to boxrec no date set for next fightBronxbull666 wrote:This is a really annoying situation, all too common with British prospects. How hard can it be to find opponents? Or at least let the kid fight on other promotions on a loan basis or something.

Re: What has happened to joe Murray
Was going to post this the other day but my internet went. Joe looked quality when he first turned pro but seemed to get worse with each fight. The guy has ability but he has not been tested added on top of that he has only fought once since last June which is not good enough should be having 4-5 fights a year.
I remember Barry and Glenn on Sky after his last fight when he called out Lee Selby, just found it on youtube.

Glenn McCrory is spot on when he said ' At 25 he needs a decent test to see if he going somewhere or if he is not.'
IMO should get him in with John Simpson.

Totally agree with this. He seemed to be going backwards with every fight. I was really looking forward to filling my boots when the fight with Male was announced as I believe Maley would just have totally out worked him. Last time I watched Joe was when I was working a show in Bolton or Oldham when he fought a Scottish lad and he looked dreadful.Naandrew wrote:Was going to post this the other day but my internet went. Re: What has happened to joe Murray
yep just wen chris would have uped the gears. think that fight also showed his lack of power even tho he got a decent stoppage record. bant and super bants hav stopped ancliff he never looked in trouble in the fightThe Insider wrote:Yeah that was it.
