I know over the last few years this issue has been discussed a number of times but there still seems to be a lot of anomalies in the records.
Obviously the "nationality" or "country" field can raise some arguments, mainly, I believe, as a result of there being no clear description of what the field is supposed to represent and therefore that leads to interpretation which isnt always ideal when you are dealing with factual records.
My proposal as a minor alteration to the field which could work is as follows.
Instead of labeling the field "nationality" or "country" why not label it "Licencing Country" or simply "Licence" and list boxers by whatever country they are licenced in.
This would through up its own problems, e.g. David Haye being from Luxembourg for a time etc, but in the main I feel it would be a better as it deals with a fact and isnt open to interpretation or debate as well a depoliticising the field.
Thoughts?
The "Country" field - redux!
