What is your favourite boxing-specific routine
Aside from roadwork, weights, circuits etc - i.e. broad-spectrum exercise - what is your favourite aspect of boxing-specific training?
Re: What is your favourite boxing-specific routine
Its gotta be sparring.
I enjoy doing pads also, but sparring is the best/favourite.

Bags for me.
I get incredibly tense sparring, maybe because I don't do enough or only with the same few people, but I keep trying to follow advice and do things properly, i use up all my energy thinking about that, and I still seem to get hit without them even trying...
Pads are ok too i guess but bags are my favourite, sometimes I just spend 3 minutes on the jab, moving round the bag, then the next round 1-2s, then double jabs, just trying to keep my hand up when it goes back from the punch, trying to keep the snap to it.

Love all them drills - every single one is helpful in different way.
I'd say:
shadow boxing - for footwork and movement,
bag work - for punching technique, hand speed and combos,
pads for all the above + timing
But...
It's got to be sparring as it encompasses them all + defence.
