Allegedly's best year for world class imports. 27 years ago?

Post by Cholo_cws »

In 1985, the year Allegedly first promoted a world title fight, he brought over Don Curry, Azumah Nelson, Sot Chitalda and Tim Witherspoon. For whatever reasons, in terms of bringing 'the best' to UK boxing fans was this first year allegedly's best? - more than a quarter of a century ago.

Did he also put on the 10 rounder between Frankie Randall v Edwin Rosario at york hall around that time? Even as a young un at the time i wondered how two world class fighters from different countries ended up in the east end? :??

Good work by Frank there, but back then gate receipts were more important than TV income. You get the croud, you get the gig. PPV for prime time America is now the deciding factor.
