What are the WBO doing - regarding Ricky Burns

Did anyone on here pick Burns to win in the first four in the prediction thread? I'd be surprised if there was more than one or two who did, going in most people thought Kevin was the puncher of the two.

x2 hindsight is a wonderful thing, Burns a hard hitter with a left hook? He's proved it now.

I was sick of reading articles in the lead up to the fight that Mitchell's the better boxer, the harder puncher etc. No offence meant to the lad, he's a good fighter, but he has been over hyped and over rated these last few years.

I'd backed Burns on points as I'd imagined thousands would have as everyone felt he wasn't a puncher, he did a job on Mitchell though to be fair.

As for saying Mitchell was over hyped not having it, I actually think he is a very skilled fighter but he just got swarmed by a much fitter and aggressive fighter, he was also a lot bigger.

I'm hoping for a top class fighter next for burns no more fighters in their decline or with a point to prove, let him earn some serious money against the top of his class.

I think Burns TKOing Mitchell in 4 rounds was a unpredicted/massive shock you don't but you weren't prepared to bet on that outcome which suggests it was at least a more unlikely outcome to you than a points loss. I can accept that.

a boxer cant be overated they just climb the ladder, mitchell asked for the burns or rios for he's next fight but alledged wanted him to box katsidis, mitchell declined the offer due to kat losing he's last 2 and he's brother dying R.I.P and didnt think it was a worthy scalp to put on he's record or self pride, but because he didnt do what he was told he got side lined ...burns v kat...murray v rios ...mitchell in waiting again, wouldnt be suprised to see mitchell v burns again and the outcome a bit different, looks suspicious to me

Not sure probably not going to be a big enough name to match last weekend so adding him to a high profile bill best way to shift tickets. Liam Walsh would be a terrible choice. Good fighter but what has he done to deserve a title shot??

About time he fought a mandatory instead or moving up in weights when forced to do so!

sounds like harrison would have to win a big domestic fight such as murray or crolla, if this were to happen.

after burns destroyed mitchell, harrison would appear way below burns' radar. but if harrison can get a big win, maybe they use harrison to consolidate burns as a draw in one of the scottish arenas.
