Betting thread
Re: Betting thread
I aint touching this one, too tough to call, agree that 6/1 Burns stoppage aint too bad, but he aint a noted puncher and Mitchell's got a good chin usually cept for the Katsidis sparking. It could be one of those cumulative ones though if he grinds Mitchell down. Well looking forward to this and don't really need a bet to spice it up, but if anything jumps out at me on betfair before it I might go for something.
Re: Betting thread
Just left the bookies under central station and there was a squad of guys lumping on davies to beat simpson. Got talking to them and they said they were told simpson has a fucked jaw!
Taking it with a pinch of salt but they throwing a fair bit on it!
I still think simpson will stop him early

Wish i'd of had the balls to back for a stoppage but a wins a win i suppose. ;;-)chiggsy wrote:The 4/6 has gone now, best price is 8/13.SteveDow wrote:I think the 4/6 on Burns just to win is an excellent price given he's boxing at home and looking at the respective performances against Katsidis. Thing Burns should control the fight from distance and win a comfortable points decision.
Burns obviously getting well backed and rightfully so imo.
Burns wins by stoppage in rounds 9 to 12 after a brave effort from kev.

Well played lads on the Burns stoppage bet. I never went for anything, Burns looked like a weight or 2 higher than Mitchell, which I think made a big difference tonight,as Burns aint a noted puncher but he looked to be hurting Mitchell every time he landed.

Well done the stoppage backers, I've done my nuts in on Burns over the last couple of years and have quit while I'm behind. One bet this weekend on the Frampton stoppage @ evens which I'll probably spunk on the football tomorrow.
Bring on Burns-Broner! I can feel a 2k on Broner thread in the making.

Re: Betting thread
Hatton to win another World title looks big @ 6/4
If he beats Senchenko (he's 2/7) he'll surely rise above him in the WBA rankings, Senchenko is number 5 currently, so say he goes to number 5, Kell Brook is above him who is going down the IBF route and Amir Khan who is yet to fight at Welterweight so effectively Hatton would be ranked 3rd and in prime position for a shot at Malignaggi (presuming he retains) who he was 4/11 beat last time. Should he beat Senchenko you'd have yourself a nice little bet with some leverage
Thoughts?

Doesn't really get me going to be honest. Not really enough room to manouvre with it and he has to win at least 2 fights for it to happen. I'd imagine he'd be at least 1/2 on to beat Senchenko but the price v Malignaggi could be anything depending on performance.

Re: Betting thread
He's 2/7 in most places to beat Senchenko, he'd definately be odds on v Malignaggi - I'd say at the biggest 4/6 but probably a hell of alot shorter so your looking at the double paying around 5/4 at the absolute most

Re: Betting thread
A double at only 6/4 with a lot of key unknown factors is not really good enough value for me. Hatton may win but Malignaggi may lose, Hatton might sneak through with a controversial win meaning a better price etc
I don't like betting on the carling cup due to the fact that premier league teams can send out a whole new team so i'm putting Hatton in that same boat for the timebeing

Re: Betting thread
I think you're missing the massive value bet here lads, which is clearly Senchenko, who is active and only lost once, and is facing a guy who has been inactive for 3 years.
6/4 for Hatton to win a world title again, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

Got to agree, I wouldn't be chucking a score at this nevermind anything lumpy.TheCobra wrote:I think you're missing the massive value bet here lads, which is clearly Senchenko, who is active and only lost once, and is facing a guy who has been inactive for 3 years.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I've gone for Ustinov to beat Pulev (any method) 11/4 and Povetkin to beat Rahman rounds 7-9 3/1 in a double. Don't think Pulev will stop Ustinov, and there's a good puncher's chance here for Ustinov. It'll be close IMO.

OK, I have done an accumulator with my free £10 bet with Sky.
Price KO2
Degale points
Rios outright
Donaire outright.
45/1 roughly.
How'd I do?

Oh holy balls at the above, I was considering going for the KO1 in the Price fight then this accumulator would have come in :(
Re: Betting thread
I had Price at 15/2 for the Rd1 stoppage, and then picked up Rios and Donaire on a double for their stoppages, should have trebled it but didnt have the balls!
