Dirrell didn't even look as though he wanted to win the fight. As for Taylor, you can say 'would have lost' all day long, fact is he didn't. It's like a 100m runner leading for 95m and trailing for the last 5m; it's about finishing the job. It takes an awful lot of character to stick to the task when it seems lik a lost cause, and as in that case, it can separate the winners from the losers.Bronxbull666 wrote:Burns has loads more skill than Froch. We can drone on about p4p and levels all day long, but the fact is; when Froch fights someone who has skills, he loses.
1. Would have lost to Taylor, outfoxed for 34 minutes.
2. Lost to Dirrell, but got some dodgy home decision.
3. Lost to Kessler, Kessler is faster and more accurate.
4. Struggled against Adamu.
5. Struggled against Johnson.
6. Outclassed by Ward.
7. Pascal fight was closer than the judges made out.
Is it April 1st?

It's interesting how people dismiss the likes of Moses, Martinez, Cook (all world champs), Katsidis (top contender and interim champ), Mitchell (contender and British champ). Ricky Burns has won his fights better than Froch has. Froch, comes up short at top level, Burns knows how to win. Froch is clueless when met with speed and skill.
Abraham is not a top SMW.
Abraham is not a top SMW.

Lucian Bute...???
Re: Is it April 1st?
They're not dismissed, it's just accepted by anyone but you that they're a level below Froch's opponents. I can't believe you've even got the audacity to mention Cook as proof of Burns' skills given the circumstances surrounding that bout.Bronxbull666 wrote:It's interesting how people dismiss the likes of Moses, Martinez, Cook (all world champs), Katsidis (top contender and interim champ), Mitchell (contender and British champ). You also contradict yourself as if Abraham should be discounted on the basis that he is not a top SMW despite just winning a world title at the weight, why are you referencing the likes of Katsidis as proof of Burns' skill, given he's a level below Abraham?
And finally, a question for you based on your final statement. Are you saying that Bute had no speed and skill? Because every single analyst I've ever read or heard seems to think those were his two main attributes... yet far from proving clueless, Froch steam-rollered him and stopped him, or am I missing something?
It's also a fact that Bute has more speed, skill and experience than anyone Burns has ever faced... oh sorry, you mentioned Kevin Mitchell didn't you?

The rankings aren't real? What are you on about?ArtOfWar wrote:Eh?
Was that a serious reply. P4P is not reality. None of the rankings are reasonable, because they are not real.
You think they are meaningless, but many others don't.
Re: Is it April 1st?
I do think the P4P thing has gone too far, as evidenced by Ricky Hatton saying his fights against Mayweather & Pacquiao were for the P4P 'title'. I mean, Antonio Tarver wasn't No.1 P4P after beating Roy Jones was he?
