Tyson Fury v Eddie Chambers in belfast in december ?
I just heard a rumour that Tyson fury might be fighting Eddie chambers early in Dec in Ireland !
If he beats him he should get a mandatory for one of the Klitschko brothers ?
Sounds like a good step up in class if true ?

Styles wise, I think Adamek would be easier.mrpedigree wrote:I just heard a rumour that Tyson fury might be fighting Eddie chambers early in Dec in Ireland !

Nobody could complain if this is true. Nice measuring stick. Agree that Adamek is an easier fight stylistically.

But they will, somehow.Bronxbull666 wrote:Nobody could complain if this is true. Nice measuring stick. Agree that Adamek is an easier fight stylistically.

Every time people get sucked in. Fury won't be fighting a world class fighter, he will be fighting a 40 year old clubfighter with a muscled physique and a padded record.

Not a chance he fights Chambers

I can't see this happening myself... more likely to be somebody like Cedric Boswell maybe?
Re: Tyson Fury v Eddie Chambers in belfast in december ?
Chisora 2 would be good.

No, like Vinnie Maddalone, Nikolay Firtha, Martin Rogan, Nevan Pajik, Rich Power, that big Brazilian... one sole retrospectively credible opponent (who wasn't match-fit) does not erase the memory of way too many fat or musclebound pub brawlers. Especially when in-shape he was brutally whacked by David Haye.slapbangwhallop wrote:like Chisora?loaded_gloves wrote:Every time people get sucked in. If Fury fights a 'name', it's likely to be horrorshow name like Hasim Rahman. Botha, Grant, Holyfield and McCall are still too lively for him.
Seriously, you guys amaze me. What kind of serious prospect has two fights in a year? Two fights against two old journeymen! I just cannot fathom the appeal of Fury.

Chambers is a brilliant masterwork of matchmaking. He's good, he's flash, he's little & he can't punch. No complaints from anyone, surely, as long as Chambers has recovered from that arm injury he had versus Adamek.

He did beat the shit out of Dimitrenko though the last time he thought somebody of comparable height not called KlitschkoDatsue wrote:Chambers is a brilliant masterwork of matchmaking. Remind me again how many 40+ opponents Fury has faced?loaded_gloves wrote:Every time people get sucked in. Fury won't be fighting a world class fighter, he will be fighting a 40 year old clubfighter with a muscled physique and a padded record.

Which is exactly what will get me tuning in to watch!
Re: Tyson Fury v Eddie Chambers in belfast in december ?
Doesn't matter. It doesn't matter that Fury is 24 years old. It doesn't matter that he has had less than 20 fights. It doesn't matter that he is obviously still learning his trade. It doesn't matter that there are only about 5 heavyweights in the world who could be described as anything other than shite...oliverfennell wrote:Remind me again how many 40+ opponents Fury has faced?loaded_gloves wrote:Every time people get sucked in. I ain't got a problem with fighters taking their time, but when they take backward steps, not through inactivity or defeat, then these fights don't generally make interesting viewing. Fury needs some 12 rounders or someone that'll keep him on his toes, not some obscure fat plodder. May as well have Fat Mick as his sparring partner.

Chambers is a very good boxer, the Fury hate brigade would finally have to give him some props for beating Chambers, which I'm convinced he would.
Re: Tyson Fury v Eddie Chambers in belfast in december ?
Steve Bunce interviewed Chambers on the Bunce Hour. Chambers confirmed he had been approached but talks didn't get to an advanced stage. Chambers suggested he won't be back from injury until January and wouldn't rush his recovery. So Fury Vs. Chambers in December is a no go according to Eddie himself. Chambers also talked up a fight with Seth Mitchell so looks like Chambers won't be near the UK anytime soon.

Chambers would be a credible opponent but he's pretty much been a cruiser his last few fights.mrpedigree wrote:Chambers is a very good boxer, the Fury hate brigade would finally have to give him some props for beating Chambers, which I'm convinced he would.
Re: Tyson Fury v Eddie Chambers in belfast in december ?
Be a nice move if Hennessy makes that fight.
Re: Tyson Fury v Eddie Chambers in belfast in december ?
I think he was claiming more that Chisora came in with a well-muscled physique.oliverfennell wrote:Remind me again how many 40+ opponents Fury has faced?loaded_gloves wrote:Every time people get sucked in. Re: Tyson Fury v Eddie Chambers in belfast in december ?
This would be a strange choice of opponent if you ask me. It would be hard to imagine Fury scoring a stoppage win, and the last thing you want is Fast Eddie landing a moral victory for the little heavyweights by going the distance comfortably.
I don't see what it would achieve.
