Nice video, on a site I've not seen before. Reminds me what an awesome puncher Bingham was. Some good fight clips and interesting comments from the man himself.

One of my favourite ever fighters ensley... His knockout of Antony ivory at the time was just sensational. One of the few fights you'll see concluded with a left uppercut.

When's part 2?

Who trains at the phil Martin centre now?

Nice watch that, wish they'd have turned the music off earlier though, too distracting.

Hi thanks for posting and sharing the video and for the nice comments, it was a pleasure to do this interview with Ensley, he was a favourite of mine and he is a gentlemen and I always wanted to interview him and get his story recorded by himself.

@Machoman09 There is a Pat Barrett interview I did on the site and Im doing one with Maurice Core and Carl Thompson in the coming weeks.

Ensley's Part 2 will be up in a few days, when I have completed editing.

If you are interested in other British Boxing Interview videos please take a look at my YouTube channel:

Excellent doc, and great to see someone has bothered to put together the Ensley Bingham story. Those clips really show what an amazing left hook he threw - I'd like to see him asked in part 2 ( hopefully someone posts when that turns up ) how did he feel when he'd see his opponents go down with the lights out like that - it can be fairly alarming to see, and I can guess his answer - but it's not many can put people out like that. ( though neighbour Pat Barrett could do exactly the same ).

What a chin Wally Swift had, to take Bingo's left hook like that, just phenominal - and Steve Holdsworth sounds almost bored when he hits the nail on the head by saying "this is one of thos contests they'll talk about for years..." because they did...

Check out Robert McCracken's expression when he gets up from Bingham's left hook (WTF?) and what a classy touch by Rob, when he takes out Ensley in the last, one shot and he's out on his feet, but Rob just walks away, rather than step in and take advantage - real class that, and no wonder he's such a respected trainer now ( as is Ensley I hope )

Ensley Bingham the nicest guy in boxing with the nastiest left hook. He trained me.for.3 of.my fights and if it weren't for ensley I would have quit Boxing. Had to leave his camp as travel and hotel expenses were too much having a young family. He is a great trainer and has some great up and coming fighters that are well worth keeping an eye out for.

Ryan Doyle
Taz apergis
Jimmy Kelly

All of which under the wing of bingo can go.on and win major titles. I am still in regular contact with ensley and he was at my wedding last year.

Again a great guy and one I am proud to be associated with.

Team bingo!!!

I was driving passed the Phil Martin centre the other week and Bingo was outside talking to somebody - I swear he has not aged a day, he looked about 25 and he must be knocking 50 !

Yeah it's a contradiction he had some of the worst fans going, football fans that is, and good to see Mickey Duff chucking one of the morons out of the ring too.

And yes, Ensley still looks in his 30's....

I've been trying to find a copy of his British title win against Gilbert Jackson, from what i remember it was a bit of a shoot out between them.
I spoke to a guy at a show a few years ago, and he mentioned that he knew Ensley, i asked if he could get a signed photo and gave the guy my address, i didn't expect anything. But couple of weeks later was a signed photo from Ensley with a nice message on it for me. :TU:

The left hook he hit Mark McCreath with was a monster; he blew Mark; a tough customer; away.

I remember watching that McCreath fight on TV, I was curious what card it was on so looked on boxrec. Not much of a card really, odd when you compare it to SKY's coverage these days. Oddly enough I watched his fight with Barrett over the weekend.

Looking forward to part 2. I'm interested to listen to the CAT interview, from what I remember he always seemed a bit of an introvert - cup of tea on a Friday night sort - but that was always at odds with the majority of his ring performances.
