Frampton was going to fight Kiko, but he had to pull out the fight due to a injury. a true champion wins titles fihting in his own home and out, Kiko has fought in Ireland, South Africa, England and France, becoming superbantam weight champion Knockin out Dunne in 90 secs... So you can say that Frampton don't needs to fight Kiko, i don't think so, with his new promoter and new trainer (Pablo Sarmiento the same as Maravilla and coach of the year,) Kiko will be fighting soon in the USA, with opponents that Eddie AKA "bring me a bum" Hearn will never bring Frampton to the UK. "Frampton doesn't need the EBU or British titles. 5 more fights and I think he'll be mandatory for all 4 world titles." and he will seem a toy in the hands of Nishioka, Donaire or Rigondeaux.
His promoter Mc Guigan was calling out KIko, now, his promoter has lost the bid (2 months ago Eddie was very interested in the fight) he doesn´t want to come to Spain and KO kiko as they were saying... a very coward option, if Frampton comes to Spain he will be KOed in the first round as kiko does with Dunne.
Matchroom know that Frampton is going to be very marketable in Britain, Belfast, Ireland and even with the Irish folks on the East Coast of America. Spain's economy is in real bad shape at the minute, makes no sense for Frampton to fight there, Martinez's team will know the money will be fighting in Belfast or Britain, hence why their own bid was so low.

I just think Frampton is head and shoulders above Quigg and Munroe in terms of talent. The winner of Quigg and Munroe is going to have to ask themselves if a Frampton fight is worth the risk at this point. These 'Battles of Britain' make for a good payday, but one fighter is going to be left earning a crust domestically or at European level, whilst the other goes on to challenge for world honours.

Same with Price vs Fury, the fight makes sense when it is a World title fight or an eliminator. Look at the likes of Matty Hatton, John Murray, James DeGale, Mitchell etc... All have lost these types of fights and you have to wonder what is next for them, promotionally or title wise.
What is the relevance of the Spanish economy got to do with anything. You go there win/lose the fight take the money & come home as Champion or not. I dont see the relevance as they won the bids!!!

Ah ok, so with a purse of 60000 euros (that's 24000 to the challenger, 40%), is worst than a purse of 32000 (12800 to the challenger)....but the problem is that the fight in Spain doesn´t generate money to Matchroom....In Sapin there's no TV showing boxing, no sponsors, etc. the promoter spent the money in benefit of the boxer, with no earnings. But the matter is that promoter only thinks in make fights with economical "interest", and with interestet in the UK, how many people in USA watch the fight between Carson Jones and Kell Brook...?or Frampton-Molitor...? even in europe these fight has no interest, only the economical by the promoter making cards with IBF intercontinental fights,etc..

The relevance of the Spanish economy is that the bid was only €64,000. Why would Matchroom send Frampton to fight in Spain for let's say €40,000, when Frampton can headline in Belfast and earn twice that amount? It's clear that Matchroom didn't want the fight, because lack of TV revenue, ticket sales and the fact that Frampton could lose by some very bad decision.

You are sort of agreeing with me here. Frampton could be big in America, in the same sort of way as Lee or Duddy, but bigger. There is a future market there, Matchroom didn't want the Martinez fight, they tried, but Martinez pulled out. Why go to Spain?

Duh ! I know that - but macinger seems to feel it would have to be staged there even if Matchroom won the bid.
If Matchroom wanted this they'd have got it and staged it in the UK.
They don't want it because other plans are afoot.
Simple as.
