SKY Box Office to return?

Post by chad »

Noticed that Boxrec have Carson Jones vs. Lee Purdy, on the 08th December, listed as a SKY Box Office event. On the same night Pacman takes on Marquez. Are SKY making a return to PPV, and potentially showing a double head event, or have Boxrec made an error with the listing?

I’ve wondered recently if Hatton’s return might end up as a PPV event

God I hope not. Eddie Hearn seems to be popular with the people, this would really turn off viewers.

We don't get enough boxing on the premier dedicate sports TV service in the UK as it is - let alone making bills PPV.

Kell Brook is not a PPV fighter - lets be fair, if FW was on sky and had Groves vs Steiglitz as the UK headline act as a PPV there would be riots.

Well nothing supprises me any more, Ive heard so many rumors about what channel is showing hatton, the favorite being Primetime ppv and the outsider being itv's return to boxing !
But pacman v Marquez wouldn't be fair to make us pay, but you just know thousands will :TU:

I won't pay for anything anymore (apart from my Sky Subscription and allegedly channel), unless guaranteed an amazing card. Certainly not for Purdy vs Jones or Hatton return. Shafted too many times and Sky don't do it with football, so why do it with boxing? They can get f*cked, I want what I pay for.

No chance of this evening being PPV. Well, not the Purdy fight. Maybe Pac Man/JMM on Primetime...

Steve goodwin's got a show on the same date as Pac v JMM so am 99.9% certain the Goodwin show will be the free view into the PPV on Primetime

Boxrec now have Carson Jones vs. Lee Purdy showing as SKY sports, not SKY Box Office. Panic over people :D

I know it`s early days but the first two sky cards did dissapointing figures,Bellew fight got just over 100000 viewers but it was up against the Andy Murrey semi final at the US open and the Frampton fight did not make the top ten of the week :( Im sure the viewing figures will improve and the Brook and Froch fights last year did great numbers

Very true. I recently bought the Martinez v Chavez fight. Not worth it but if we can be charged for this then the Marquez vs Pacman fight will be PPV, definitely. Look at PAC v Bradley, couldn't believe that was PPV.
