Who Could Be The Next Steve Robinson?

Post by keithmoonhangover »

Robinson was 13-9-1 when he got the call to fight John Davison and the rest is history.

Steve beat some superb boxers before losing to Naz, which is no great shame.

My question is, which active fighter with an average record has what it takes to become a top fighter in his division?

I'll put forward Tony Pace, he is much better than his 3-4 record.

Oh - I'm not sure a story quite like Steve Robinson's in our lifetime. Mainly because I'm not sure there will be instances again when there will be a fighter with such a poor record in the position to fight for a vacant title against a fighter of John Davidson's ability (no disrepect intended to John but he wasn't quite European class).

Not that he has got a average record, but I could see John Simpson giving a world champion at Feather or Super Feather a bloody good fight.

Gary Boulden's losses have only been abroad or a points loss to BJ Saunders
