I'd have thought Jason Rowland was the best from Canning Town/Custom House, followed by Mark Kaylor; though I can appreciate that we sadly didn't get to see how good Stone would have become. Best amateur from that area was Shaun Gray.

I am from Halifax which is a bit of a ghost town as far as boxing goes. We have a few decent pros at the moment but the best is probably Liam Walsh. Its a pity really because if we did get a decent boxer the fans would really turn out for him.

I remember boxing on an amateur show Bolton town hall a fair few years ago and if I remember rightly Barrie lee boxed Grahame higginson as it was England vs Scotland was a good fight but Barrie was a bit to strong and experienced and won on points!!

I'm not sure how old you are dhb-raging bull; at the minute he is the very best active boxer but Irwin and Woodcock were excellent fighters and had some great wins, Irwin was a fantastic amateur as well, (he turned the Christmas lights on outside the Mansion House one year). (Woodcock was before my time and Irwin a contempary, David 'Diamond' Jules and Kasi Kaihao had some good wins as well as pros).
