Warren offered £60.000 for Rees to fight Burns

Post by Final round »

Plus options..though FW raises a fair point does Hearn have options on Yusef Mack and Carson Jones?

Obviously we don't know the exact details of the options but from what we do know is that a horrendous offer to fight for Burns' title?

Junior Witter used to get 60-80k to defend his world title so it isn't horrendous to challenge for that fee. Burns doesn't have to fight Rees. It is a voluntary and Rees is not exactly a big draw even if he is a good talent.

:TU:It puts the big purses in perspective knowing what the less popular fighters make. I wonder how much Rees made against Derry

Carson Jones does post here I believe. So it won't be too hard for someone to point him in the direction of this thread and he can let us know whether there were options, rematch clauses or whatever you wanna call them. Obviously we aint asking for every detail of his pay, just whether Hearn had options on him if he beat Brook.

What if the fight had too many options on Rees if winning! Will Rees get paid on time will show happen maybe these factors ate reason fights get turned down. Last two excel shows have been cancelled!

Do you think Hearn has options on Mack? Bute's team had options on Froch when he fought for the title, why shouldn't FW have options on Rees?

Well five options sounds pretty fu cking ridiculous....Gavin without going into to much detail do all those options involve fighting Warren fighters or on his bills.

60k or not, sounds like you made the right decision Gavin, well done. Must have been hard turning it down.

It shows the lack of trust Warren inspires in his fighters. Gettin paid is the no1 factor surely.

:TU: It's a lot to ask for £60.000 and a shot at Burns title really.

Options wouldn't really have been a issue imo burns stops Rees late on, Rees wouldn't be able to live with the pace burns sets

Rees know's Bunny having been previously affiliated with him. If he chooses to give up a world title shot to ensure he won't have a prolonged return as a W*rren fighter, then I'll trust he has sufficient reason for doing so :TU:

I genuinely believe that FW is going way too far now. This money talk is extremely crude, FW should just shut his mouth and stop sounding like a bitter old man.

I think FW has put on some fantastic shows, but Hearn is a very different promoter. Hearn maps out career paths, FW maps out WBO paths.

Gavin, I think you need to have a word with Matchroom and ask to see the offer in writing!!!

The offer included 3 options, not 5 as you mention.

If Matchroom told you it was 5 their not telling you the truth....

Secondly Gavin, when you were with FW and challenged for made a defence of a World Title, you were paid, despite one of those occasions being a Cardiff promotion, which only sold 400 tickets, losing tens of thousands in the process.

It's quite surprising your stance on this considering FW stood by you through various problems.

FW, you are the crudest man in boxing. None of this 'airing dirty linen in public' stuff does you any favours. No class mate, no class at all.
