European schoolboys championships

These start tomorrow and Russia,as usual,will dominate but they wont win everything.Ireland send 17 boxers and England 6
I will try to post results of British and Irish boxers.

Ten Irish and two English boxers have made the semis and are guaranteed medals-details later.

Are the schoolboys here the same age as the schoolboys in usa? Wish they had a Tournament like this in The Americas for Schoolboys

They are the same age-all boxers must be born in 1998 or 1999.
As from 1 January 2013 the 1998 boys become juniors,the 1999 boxers remain as schoolboys alongside boxers born in 2000.I feel very old.

Oliver Mccarthy,James Mcgiven,John Sweeney and Michael Nevin have reached the finals.
Kieran Molloy lost to a German whilst the other five irish lads lost to Russians
No news yet on the English boxers

Three golds were won by Irish boxers this afternoon.John Sweeney,Michael Nevin and James Mcgiven all won whilst John Sweeney won silver.
This is Ireland's best ever performance at these championships
Still waiting on news of English boxers.

Freddy Young from Birkenhead lost his semi 6-8 to the Russian.It was his first ever loss.

I should've had my kid represent Bosnia to compete, he is half Bosnian. It is great these kids in Europe get such challenges at a early ages

Russia won fourteen golds,Ireland two,and Azerbaijan one.England won two bronzes.Ireland won three golds,one silver and six bronze.
