Michael Pass

Post by davie »

Is he the worst ring announcer/MC you've ever heard?

His voice goes straight through me, it sounds as if he's actually trying to impersonate someone who is really smug and arrogant. He sounds f**king ridiculous.

If he was sitting in my livingroom talking to me, i'd get up and leave.

And his face.... ohhhh that face.
It is actually in the right place!
Because it looks like it needs punched, really it does.

So why anyone thought it would be a good idea to give that pleb a microphone and put him on my tele is beyond me.

I've always disliked this guy, but maybe this has been highlighted by the fact I was fortunate enough to witness a true great of the game, live at the burns vs mitchell fight.
I'll now go to my grave a happy man, having heard the baritone genius that is Sir Michael Buffer.

As for Pass. :witzend:

I'd have Michael Pass over Stewpot from Grange Hill/Kev from Bev & Kev any day of the week.

What happened to Pass, he's gone all silver fox.

What happened to the suave Elvis impersonator?

I must admit, the guy is leagues below Mike Goodhall in terms of creating tension.

Buffer's regular trips abroad over recent years have diluted his impact to a degree. But when he hits it right he's still the daddy IMO.

Mike Goodall works at a load of shows over in Ireland and I have yet to see him in a good mood.

Michael Pass on the other hand seems like a thoroughly decent chap.

Goodhall is old school and he's not slow at buying rounds in at the bar. Michael Pass is also a good bloke, I prefer him silver fox as he's not as good looking. His ring announcer voice is a far cry from this strong Lancastrian accent.

I find him the better side of ok. To call him a pleb who's useless at his job and face you'd like to smash in is a bit ott for someone you don't even know :o

Goodhall is shite & his son is even worse & ought to be shot at point blank range.

Pass is decent but John McDonald is are best!!

Gary Logan was good but apparently was pumped by sky for allway's scratching his balls I was told lol!

I remember reffing at the Mountbatten Leisure Centre in Portsmouth, and Michael asked me if he could have a lift to the Town Centre from the arena.

As he got in the car, some Tony Oakey fans also begged for a lift to the middle of town.

Michael was insistent that they paid me a few quid and behaved themselves if they were going to get a lift.

The deal was done, and I got a few quid. I've got nothing but good things to say about him.
