Rocky Fielding - going places or not?
Rocky Fielding - going places or not?
Carl Dilks exposed a few flaws in Rocky Fielding on Saturday until Rocky produced an excellent finish. While watching it I couldn't help but think 'What if Fielding was in with Kenny Anderson here'.
I think Anderson might have chewed Fielding up. A Fielding-Anderson meeting would be a good clash of styles if Anderson can get past Robin Reid next month.

He,s still learning and I think it will be a cracking fight further down the line for fielding, not jus yet though needs to keep busy maybe when he,s had a few fights more, if they fought tomorrow I'd pick Anderson but fielding is only gonna get better . I think Anderson has reached his peak.
Re: Rocky Fielding - going places or not?
Rocky has a long way to go yet, so they will have to match him well and not push him too quickly, you are right Ben last saturday Anderson would have got to him if he was fighting him.Ben Carey wrote:Carl Dilks exposed a few flaws in Rocky Fielding on Saturday until Rocky produced an excellent finish. Anderson may... if they fight... get knocked out cold by Groves (like Smith and that Mexican have)
This may make Anderson vunerable and a betterfight for Rocky down the line

I honestly thought he would have disposed of dilks easier on Saturday and as such I think it wouldn't be in his interests to throw him together with Anderson at this stage.
I think the best fight out there for him at the moment would be to fight Luke Blackledge who is younger and with similar experience . He too is unbeaten and has a similar ranking.

Re: Rocky Fielding - going places or not?
Generally impressed with Fielding at the weekend. I thought his fight with Dilks was an even money fight before the opening bell (I felt in no way was the Degale fight a reflection of Dilks' ability).
I think a fight with Anderson would be something. I never thought that highly of Kenny until the Groves fight. Still not convinced if that was Anderson inspired or if he has more to give or if he just has the right style to give Groves fits (the sparring video highlights that Groves' finds Anderson very tough).
If that was Anderson at his best, but he can consistently replicate that form, then I think he will ultimately be too strong for Rocky. I feel Rocky needs some good Commonwealth level fighters before fighting Anderson - needs to get more man strength I feel. Someone like a Charles Adamu who is normally very durable would be good.

I've never been that impressed by Fielding and I think Anderson would have way too much for him. That's even with the fact that even as a Scot I don't buy into all this hype about Anderson. Both may win a British title - no more
Re: Rocky Fielding - going places or not?
RockyS done everythink asked of him so only with the right fight s the right time in well see but I think he s got a good future only early days
Re: Rocky Fielding - going places or not?
Probably still too early to say. I wasn't overly impressed on Saturday but fair play to him he got the job done in the end.
Still a work in progress but I'd say that he will go places eventually.

Unsure about how far Rocky can go and where Eddie will lead him to next. Doubt he will be rushed as he is a decent ticket seller and starting to build a good fanbase. IMO Kenny Anderson would take him right now but be good while it lasts.
Re: Rocky Fielding - going places or not?
he has the potential i def see him as euro champion
Re: Rocky Fielding - going places or not?
The biggest fight out there for Rocky is Paul Smith 2 of the top 5 ticket sellers in Liverpool with good undercard promoted by Eddie or Frank and this would easily sell out The Echo Arena.I can see rocky getting caught inbetween British and European level just can't see him being able to hang with Groves and Degale but he'd have a good chance against Smith,Reid and Anderson

Smith be next in line for Anderson v Reid winner.diggler wrote:The biggest fight out there for Rocky is Paul Smith 2 of the top 5 ticket sellers in Liverpool with good undercard promoted by Eddie or Frank and this would easily sell out The Echo Arena.I can see rocky getting caught inbetween British and European level just can't see him being able to hang with Groves and Degale but he'd have a good chance against Smith,Reid and Anderson

And when Smith wins (i hope) lets hope the war of words between Frank and Eddie stop the fight from happening

If he was a rubbish boxer then he wouldn't of been able to bring out that finish when he needed to.
A British title is within his abilities.

Please not Paul Smith, again. I'm sick of these all Scouse battles. He's already been fed to Dodson and Quigley. Smith needs a win of substance now.
