Now...just what DID happen regarding the Board's threats to carpet everyone who was involved in the Haye v Chisora promotion?
Anyone know how Bruce Baker is getting on, by the way?

I find myself agreeing with everything in that letter to be fair.
The fact Nothing happened tells me this could happen again .
In fact i know the person who introduced me to this site said they would consider a switch to a lux license .

Erm, Why were the Luxembourg Federation involved at all in the recent show in Germany. It was my understanding that they had been excluded from the EBU.

Yes nothing at all just puffed their chests out and did nothing at all about it Changes need to be made at the Board i.e immeadiate reduction in costs and also reduce licence fees etc but still keep safety procedures etc in place Very difficult to do but it has got to be done and done now British Boxing needs a strong Board to control everything and by and large they do a very good job of that but it must be run differently and costs must be cut Everybody else has to tighten their belts so why not the board its as simple as that There is no chance of the Board being able to increase revenue so costs must be cut for gods sake its not rocket science

I hope you noticed the disclaimer where I pointed out it was unedited. I did start but it would have taken too long and I would have missed the 90-second window a story of this magnitude has.Datsue wrote:They need a proof-reader. Do drop them my number, please, Ian.

Next time I'm in touch with BoxRec's own Toni Tiberi (the LBF man is a BoxRec editor, believe it or not), I'll pass on your details

I should imagine Bruce is doing very well with all the sanctioning fees he is collecting for his British Masters and International Masters titlesdondada wrote:http://news.boxrec.com/news/2012/luxemb ... use-roared

I spoke out strongly against the Luxembourg issue but as the board are willing to let things slide I am beginning to think you should do what you can get away with.
It leaves the question now, what are they really there for other than to pick up fees, they have lost credibility and are left quite impotent

There was nothing to let slide really. What could they have done/do? Their hands were tied tight (by Frank's silk Cravat) because they didn't make provisions for this sort of thing happening and just got out foxed by the master tactician and so just had to sit back and watch the carnival unfold. I was dead against the show to start with, but as things transpired and the story unravelled I felt totally let down by the Board who just resorted to bully boy tactics. I'm all for the Board or A Board but I expect it to have its house in order, be strong enough and act accordingly when things like this occur. It needs a clean out, a shift of dead wood and to get some forward thinking driven people around that top table.Coco wrote:I spoke out strongly against the Luxembourg issue but as the board are willing to let things slide I am beginning to think you should do what you can get away with.

Re: Luxembourg - the mouse that roared!
They could have banned the people involved, but have chosen not to, they have banned license holders before for unlicensed fighting, they also could have banned FW for keeping JC's purse for the BHop fight, they could have also banned him for not paying other fighters.
There were no handcuffs, no tactics, just when it came to the crunch the board swallowed it.
If a fighter put up such a passive effort in the ring their licence would be suspended.

Re: Luxembourg - the mouse that roared!
They couldnt. This was not an unlicensed fight. The LBF were recognised by the board and the EBU so by the definition of its own rules it was a legit show. If they and the ebu had a tighter control on these "sleeper" organisations and specific rules that stopped the undermining of the Boards authority it wouldn't have happened. Your totally right about the JC/FW fiasco though. Total bottle job and shit scared of biting the hand that feeds them.Coco wrote:They could have banned the people involved, but have chosen not to.
Re: Luxembourg - the mouse that roared!
When the BBBoc was saved from bankruptcy, is it possible that they had to give options? like a new man in the chair? or like 3 strikes and your out, + a couple ov rematch clauses, just in case your 3 strikes was up.
If that’s the case, contract should be about up, unless there is a contract like, a nod is as good as a wink. And we are all brothers in the eyes of the lord. It’s clear (Something is not right) total bottle job’ or ££££ to be made, anyone involved with the show, directly or indirectly will be brought b4 the board, we await the result.
