I really hope Danny's explanation is true. I'd hate to think he'd doped and was using his "current" retirement as an excuse to miss taking a drugs test rather than be caught out.

Danny Williams. The guy who put a couple of shower curtains around his bed. Claiming it was an oxygen tent with a box of Mr Kiplings cakes on his bed side table.

I don't think that's the kind of guy who would be taking drugs.

Good luck to Danny Williams. Always comes across as a genuine nice guy.

I hope Danny doesn't have any financial pressures and can chill now.

A man of his pedigree should be found a role on our screens.

Not trying to sound pedantic Carl, but there are plenty of geniune world champions from the UK who haven't got a commentating job - so not sure why Danny's pedigree means he should be a definate.

The guy got battered at European level was probably never in the worlds top ten.

Yep agreed, he's had a crazy career really. So many ups and downs, such a frustrating career in many ways, punctuated by the odd really decent moment.

I don't know why anyone isn't suspicious about this. It smells bad.

And don't give that 'he's a nice guy' stuff - so's Lance Armstrong etc

And don't give that 'he's a muslim he can't do drugs' - so's Larry Olubamiwo and Ali Adams.

I've said it before. Danny has definitely dabbled in PEDs (Pastries Eaten Daily), specifically EPO (Extra Pies Often).

I take it we're talking only British heavy's - nothing can compare to Tyson's.

I have read today Danny is going to box unlicensed now with his first bout against Mark Potter in February in Brentwood.

No drugs test there!
