AUDLEY COMES IN AT HIS LIGHTEST IN EIGHT YEARS

Post by loaded_gloves »

Have to admit, I'm very impressed by the video of Audley at the weigh in. He really does look like the heavyweight champion of the world in the clip. At 245, he's at his lightest since Hersisa in 2004, the six pack and definition is all there and he looks relaxed and genuinely confident.

I've always liked Audley and think anyone who wins gold at the Olympics, the European heavyweight title with one arm and challenges for the world title has obviously done well as a fighter. That being said I did fear he was coming for a retirement payday but judging by the shape he is in he's obviously come for a fight.

The sport is personality driven and I don't think it would be bad for boxing at all if a true character like Audley was to mug this dull, dour Scouse bloke and emerge in the Klitschko mix. COME ON AUDLEY!

He won an olympic gold and only a bonified world pro title can better that, but I'll be glad to see the end of him. He's talked too much and not delivered, after his amateur career he deserved alot of breaks but he's used them all up. It's great he's come in good shape, one last hoorah. I hope he's not gonna be a punchbag at 45, I think he's too clued up for that though. Hopefully he'll put on abit of a performance but it's hard to see how Price doesn't stop him at least by the halfway point.

I think Audley is going to try and outbox Price and avoid the right hand thats the only way he can win unless Prices Chin lets him down.
Harrison has fast hands im wondering if its going to be as nip and tuck as people think. If Harrison doesnt crap himself then he might do better than expected.

Have to say I am not suprised, I saw a pic of Audley about 10 days or so back and did think to myself 'jesus he looks in decent nick' also bear in mind tho at 40 he will be starting to lose muscle mass.

I have got a niggling feeling that Price is going to be a bit cautious in this one so it won't suprise me if those betting on Price by KO in 1-6 will end up disappointed. I don't expect Audley to win, but do expect by the end of the fight people will say, 'you know what, fair play.'

Audley looks in fantastic shape & doesn't look to scared!

Price had that drawn & pale look the fighters have when they are supremely fit & are in creepy sick shape!!
On the other hand price ain't the best with leftys & if audley turns up it could be intresting but I fancy price in 3-5 rds

This may not be the foregone conclusion everybody thinks. Audley doesn't have much of a chance on paper but Price has never been in with a guy with the one punch power that Audley has nor has he been in a big fight situation like this where he is expected to deliver and quickly. I have been following Price since the amateurs and I don't think I've ever seen him look as nervous or rattled after that staredown.
Harrison does look in excellent shape and at 245 he may be planning to be a lot mobile than in previous fights and try to dictate the fight with the jab from the outside. If he is still around at the midway point I could see this being an intriguing fight where doubts could creep in as Price has never gone further than 7

He was 275+ when he started Strictly just over a year ago. He's obviously trained like an absolute beast for this and looks fantastic.

The scale weight tells us nothing categoric about how hard Audley has or has not trained.

Audley does look in good shape but regardless of his condition I don't see this going more than 2 or 3 rounds. All the shape in the world won't help when Price detonates a right hand on his chin.

Maybe, but just looking at him on the scale along with the scale weight tells us he has trained hard. I doubt Audley has lost a stone in four and a half months through lazing around? It's been reported that Audley has been sparring Malik Scott, Deontay Wilder and Joe Hanks, so that coupled with his weight, I would say he has trained hard, and the reports of him not having a proper training camp were in fact a load of shite.

Audley is definately a guy you can gauge from his weight, how hard he has trained. In fact I don't know of many or any heavyweights, who train like nutters and then look like shite on the scales, or vice versa don't train at all and then get on the scales looking like Greek gods. Look at Tyson Fury, weighs in around 270 when he hardly trains, now gets his training and diet sorted and suddenly he is weighing in 20lbs lighter.

What absolute nonsense, 'you can't tell what shape he's in by his weight'.

He has come in at his lightest in eight years. You can see his physique just by looking at him. I've never seen the guy so cut and trim, ever. He has obviously put in serious work.

If he was this relaxed and had come in at some monstrous weight, we'd know he was here for a payday. But he's this relaxed and in top shape. This might not be a foregone conclusion.

I thought Price looked absolutely terrific as well though to be fair. It is often harder to see the muscle definition in pale white guys as opposed to black guys but to me Price looked lean, cut and in career best shape which is very bad news for Audley. It shows Price has taken the fight in a deadly serious manner and I think we'll see a one sided beatdown ending in about the 3rd round.

Audley has always looked like a champion and talked like one. Just can't fight like one. Earlier Price brings his right hand into the fight the earlier it ends.

Price is in good shape. He won't ever look a prime physical specimen ( like say a prime Lewis ) because of his lanky physique and hunched posture but he is a bit of a beast!

I hope he comes out and puts it on Audley. Don't let him settle, force him in to his shell and the 15% chance Audley may have will quickly reduce to about 0.15%. :TU:

If audley fought a prime mike tyson some people would give him a chance. Price will smash him to pieces tonight, first time he lands audley won't want to know.

He can, just has never performed in the pro game frustratingly.

Anyway, I could see in Audleys eyes in the stare down he was doubting himself. He kept turning back to Price as if to shake hands. Sign of weakness already. Same old Aud..

He does have elite ko power though...

Never understood this talk of Audley's one punch power. Any heavyweight that lands right can hurt a man but at anything above domestic level Harrison is not a puncher (and yes, I did see what he did to Sprott, I also saw him against Dominic Negus, Julius Francis, Derek McCafferty and Mark Krence).

Fairplay he's in good nick but that's the least you should expect of a professional fighter and it won't matter a jot once Price starts bouncing right hands off his head. We all know by now what Harrison is about, Price is going to muller him.
