The irony being that AK has made a big deal of Virgil Hunter working on his defence...so what better way to show off your new defensive skills by fighting a smaller guy who is well known for not being a big puncher! The Dark Destroyer wrote:Can't he actually fight someone at the top end of his own division, rather than a fighter from a weight class below who lost his last two fights?
If Khan were trying to fight a British LW who was 0-2 in his last two including a big KO loss he'd be getting slaughtered on here.

i believe khan only offered bradley out when they knew he wasnt able to take it. anyway its irrelevant now cos khan has since been handled twice , once by bradley victim and once by a prospect who believed in taking the easiest route to a world title, just like khan did.
kell brook is certainly taking on a much more dangerous prospect than khan is in his next fight.
ive watched some of saldivias fights on youtube ....he looks the strong durable type, but i would say hes not as dangerous as carson jones was. if brook has improved his diet and training as claimed , then i would imagine this fight should be a stroll for him. although it was only a public workout ,and for the cameras only padwork , he looked sharp and fast the other day.
Re: Kell Brook
Brook needs to just stay busy against decent opponents. His shot will come.
If Khan is going to change style then he needs a few low risk fighters to perfect his new moves…
I was always worried how Khan would talk about his conditioning and strength training before fights. If you don’t have strength and conditioning then don’t turn up. I wanted to hear about him working on defensive techniques and improving his skill.
I like both fighters. I hope Khan reclaims a title at 140. I think he was hard done to in the Peterson fight…lost a close one to a drug cheat… Then he felt like he had to much to prove against Garcia. Okay, I’m apologising for him a little, I know. But I hope he gets back to the top.
Kell is also a real class act in the ring.

Re: Kell Brook
just trying to get some attention away from tyson fury and ch5 shite to something a little more deserving. i think brook along with burns has every possibility to become a british great...and continue to improve as he gets older.
Re: Kell Brook
I think brook is simply a more solid and well-rounded fighter than Khan, especially at 147lb.
Re: Kell Brook
Hopefully if Amir can stay upright in his fights until the Brook fights signed we will find out.

Re: Kell Brook
As spicy as it is for the sport, I really think Khan & Brook need to shut up about each other right now.
Brook needs to really prove that he is world class & Khan needs to prove that has improved his technique & conditioning, & that he can fight successfully at 147, like he did at 140.
When both fighters have accomplished the above, then they can talk about fighting each other.

Re: Kell Brook
i like brook alot but seems to have fallen into the same trap as amir khan talking about other opponents down the line rather then the one there facing which seems to have got khan in trouble hes in brook needs to forget about khan for now, there not even in the same division yet! im sure there paths will cross and will be a brilliant fight but concentrate on the job in hand 1st.

what I do begrudge is the same fighter bleating on about his next opponent being Matthysse to drum up some headlines, blames his trainer and insists he needs Defensive work, only to fight a fighter who will never threaten that defence.
Ricky Hatton has had 3 years out after a more shocking loss than Khan, you don't see him coming back and fighting some no mark and robbing the fans of their hard earned.
Re: Kell Brook
He wasn’t brave enough to fight Prescott again, and claims Bradley (contractual issues) was ducking him and now he believes Garcia ducked him too..... Even though Morales forced their rematch clause....The Dark Destroyer wrote:Khan has stepped in with the top guys at his weight, even after the Peterson loss he went straight for another title holder, more than can be said for Brook who turns down title shots. He was kod quite badly against Garcia, as I said I don't begrudge him an easier come back. I agree with you about the things he spouts, he was worse before he lost with the Mayweather stuff, but it's just something you'll have to accept about him, he clearly doesn't understand his relative position to other guys around, you can't fault his bravery though, he'd get in with Mayweather tomorrow.andeeholden wrote: what I do begrudge is the same fighter bleating on about his next opponent being Matthysse to drum up some headlines, blames his trainer and insists he needs Defensive work, only to fight a fighter who will never threaten that defence.

The difference between Hatton and Khan is Khan has years ahead of him to go back after the top guys, Hatton doesn't, a meaningless fight for Hatton is precisely that, Hatton needs to know if he has anything left, a gimme would mean nothing to him. My original point referred to Brook though, Khan has fought better opposition than Brook for years, one easy fight doesn't change that. Look at their careers and tell me if you honestly think Brook has a better standard of opponents at any stage apart from this one fight.
Amir Khan is deluded a talented fighter, although deluded. He spouts on about clearing up the division the fact is he won’t. He will win another trinket IMO although he will be well matched.
Brook hits hard not devastatingly hard, although hard enough to stop Khan.
One good thing is we can all listen to, Virgil is the best trainer and Ward is the best fighter ever...
Virgil and Ward forever...
