Davis has the spot at 123 and Malik already has spot at 132. Lubin at 141. No spot for Gary unfortunately unless he can make 114 if that is available.

Cristian Williams,I believe, has also made the short list at 114.
It looks like it might be
108 No Qualifiers
114 Cristian Williams
123 Crescencio Ramos
132 Malik Montgomery
141 Erickson Lubin
152 Jamonyay Clark
165 No Qualifiers
178 Anthony Sims Jr
201 DeMarkus Minter
+201No Qualifiers
It is a pity Salazar and Rodriguez will miss out-they are very talented. Unfortunately Nico Hernandez is too young.
If I was a selector I would probably have a few box-offs.

Priority goes to the following (in this order): All must be born in 1994 or 1995: US Olympic Team member, 2011 Pan Am Games team member, US National 1st or 2nd place, National PAL 1st or 2nd place, US National 3rd or 4th place, US Golden Gloves 1st or 2nd, Junior Olympic 1st or 2nd. If no athlete accepts then spot is open until winner of JOs at neighboring weight. Here's what I have:

108 is Scooter Fulton from Philadelphia
114 is Edmundo Guzman's spot to defer as he placed 2nd at US Nationals.
123 goes to Riccardo Kerns who placed 2nd at US Nationals, then Gary Salazar I believe as he won the PAL at 123.
141 Julian Rodriguez as he placed 2nd at US Nationals which trumps Lubin's PAL win right?
178 Anthony Sims as he placed 3rd at US Nationals

It would be a shame if that Lubin kid was not on that team. Either he just had a spectacular, one time only showing at the PAL's, or this kid is the real deal!!! I'm going with the latter.

He won he JOs and had a great showing this week. But Julian made it all the way to the finals of the Olympic trials last year and lost a close last round after it was all tied up. That was a rough week of boxing. Very impressive IMO, but Hammer won last week so I think there's arguments either way. But the way the selections are done USAB weighted the spots so the US Nationals finalists received preference over the PAL which is why I believe Julian gets that spot. Most likely because of the number of entrants and the high stakes. Just my two cents.

Don't get me wrong, I think Julians an excellent boxer, Im a fan (he didnt fight in the Olympic Trials though, your reffering to his performance in the re-load tournament which was quite impressive).

Im just saying that Lubin looked spectacular. I was only out there for 3 days for the meeting but in those three days he stopped every opponent. He was making it look easy out there. In situations like this I think they should have a box-off.
