Jimmy "Two Shots" Gardner
Does anyone have any information on Irish street fighting legend, Jimmy "Two Shots" Gardner, such as his career?
I had read somewhere that he had fought Shane Mosley, but it is not on record.

He can't be much of a legend if no one has heard of him!coreygardner wrote:Does anyone have any information on Irish street fighting legend, Jimmy "Two Shots" Gardner, such as his career?

MachoMan, that's a good one. I actually do box and will consider that as a nickname, even though the movie was boring as hell.
Speaking of Gardners, how common is the name in Great Britain?
Do you bump into a person with the name everyday?
I live in America where it isn't that common.

The Gardner surname is Anglo - French, derived from the word "gardien" meaning guardian. It has been a surname as far back as the 1100's. The word 'gardener' in the modern sense came around in the 14th Century, and the name would have been as common as Smith if derived from a gardener.
A lot of Germans, French, Italians, and others took it as a surname in America; Clan Jardine and Clan Gordon had Scotsmen take it as a surname.
houseofnames.com is pure BS!

That's ironic because the guy who posts here under the screen name Rhino used to box under the nickname 'The uphill gardener.'MachoMan09 wrote:Corey, if you ever decide to box, your nickname should be "The Constant Gardner".coreygardner wrote:Does anyone have any information on Irish street fighting legend, Jimmy "Two Shots" Gardner, such as his career?

I have never put just a smiley face after a post or put "lol" or whatever, but that seriously made me laugh out loud (just the comment - no idea who Rhino is).jameswilson wrote: That's ironic because the guy who posts here under the screen name Rhino used to box under the nickname 'The uphill gardener.'
