An absolutely fantastic achievement and only a handful of British boxers have ever done it.

I'm no big Aud fan - though there is something about him I like (not quite sure what) - it was really sad to see him being booed on his way to the ring against Haye and subject to heaps of abuse both before and after. Yes, he was shite on that night and on several other occasions. But has a British Olympic champion ever been treated in this way? I hope not.
I think it is that mindset of the British fight fans loving the underdog. Degale was booed during and after his pro debut (a fight he won every round with loads to spare).

It is a fantastic achievement what he did, but he did set himself up for a big fall with his mouth after winning the Olympic gold - and in essence he only has himself to blame for the crowd reaction. Remember he got a hero's welcome post Sydney, was shortlisted for sports personality of the year and made his pro debut a year later to a great reception.

I met Audley at the London Games and spoke with him and his brother. He seemed like a geuinely nice man, and it made me wonder why the public were against him, maybe because he was delusional about his career.

How does Audley Harrison manage to convince people that he actually has a chance whenever he's in a big fight?

Hasn't he let fight fans down enough over the years to prove to everybody that he's all gob & little or no action?

No doubt he'll be back in 18 months bigging himself up & making excuses for the loss to Price.

He'll get another big fight with one of the K2's, Fury or maybe Chisora & the bandwagon will keep rolling.
Bloody hell, I hope not.

My Arguement is why did he stay in the game when he had proved beyond all doubt he just wast good enough.
I suppose if he was getting good money and fight fans were stupid enough to pay to see him fight he had good reason to carry on. Surely after Price this has to be it.

Least it weren't PPV; I an imagine he felt fantastic in training but just doesn't have the fight night mentality; he was wide eyed going into the ring and 'boxed' scared. He's a big athletic man with a very good stature and reach; his nerves went so much he threw 2 punches and 'feinted' with open gloves the rest of the bout. He has made good money and has a great life and family from all accounts; he has earned it and ought to enjoy it.

I've also met Harrison & he is a genuinely nice guy & a gentleman, but I've been hypercritical of him for a long time, purely because of his talk & his lack of action in the ring to back up that talk.

I don't mind talkers, as long as they back up the talk or at the very least, lose with honour whilst giving their all, ala Muhammad Ali or Prince Naseem Hamed for instance.
