Neary v Holligan in the tent in Stanley Park in Liverpool in 1998. Awesome atmosphere. Been to probably about 30 or 40 since but that was up there with the best in terms of atmosphere. Next year I wanna go and see Mayweather in Vegas.

Am hoping to get over to Vegas for the Cinco de Mayo 4th may Alvarez is down to fight that weekend

Yeah that's traditionally the big fight weekend over there isn't it. Never actually been to Vegas before so wanna combine it with a boxing show.

Canelo / Mayweather is very possible for Cinco de Mayo. If Pacquiao doesn't come off, you would have to imagine Canelo would be the next choice of opponent.

I may go to one of the Klitschko's next fight if they are in Germany because I am currently living in Belgium.

Yes, remember the Cowdell-Flint night... Cowdell was brilliant, defused a big hitter with his straight punching all night. Too many judge him by the Nelson fight. The early career Cowdell was exceptional. Dismayed but can't remember my first show... must be losing it. I did watch Jack Bodell spar with Dave Roden before the McAlinden fight in Swadlincote when I was writing a piece on George Biddles - far too long ago. Later on watching Johnny Owen beating Davy Larmour and Paul Ferreri in Wales and getting robbed in Spain, Henry Rhiney winning the European title in a snow-bound town in Austria, Jim Watt in a European title fight in Glasgow which led to an interesting, slightly hazardous night with the wandering winos on Central Station because the accommodation didn't work out. Nevertheless. (Others might have differing views but my memory of Mick Mills is of a heavy handed, exciting fighter who could put his punches together but didn't have enough movement and as he moved up took shots flush on the way in. That's only memory - would have to look at the old footage to see if it's fair or not. Must be some around.)

The First show I ever went to was at the Anchor House on the Barking Road Canning Town and that was when West Ham Boxing Club used to have there shows there i was about 3/4, The first Pro Show I went to was the one below it was a Warren show on the 2nd october 1992

Ironically last year it was a major birthday in the missus life so I let her chose where we went & she chose Benidorm. This year its mine to choose & I have told her we are going to Las Vegas & I will be going to a show (with or without her). Mayweather would be great, but I would settle for anything really.

Same again with Germany that is definately on the agenda. In Dortmund on a 50th in April wth a lad who loves hos boxing so that chance to take in a show that weekend would be amazing.

Started watching amateurs in 1972 but first pro fight of meaning for me was Herol's debut in November 1978, with Mick Mills on the bill as well.

Bet you were there for my "1st time" twenty six? Herol v Holmes at Bumhole lane! Millsy got his jaw broke as i recall? Cant recall too much else but loved the fight game from then.

How good was Mills? He was mentioned in a crap book where everyone in the gym seemed to be spinning the author a line, he was highlighted as the ex big punching prospect who could have been a star with better luck etc
Looking at his record he seems to be a hit or be hit fighter, stopped many times in a career where he was consistently the home fighter and only fought one British champ in 50 fights

Bit of a legend to me growing up tbh, in retrospect his record seems extremely padded but his power was undoubtable. Was a doorman at a local nightclub when bouncers had to be able to 'have a-go'. If its the same book that i read then the stuff about Millsy is pretty accurate i would say.
