Australian Boxing History Book for Sale

Post by Ric »

At BoxRec, we don't really allow commercials or advertising, but I thought this may be an exception, because of the valuable history concerned.
I am a member of the International Boxing Research Organization. Today, the IBRO members received an e-mail regarding what appears to be a great book on Australian boxing history available. I thought I should pass on this information in this Forum, for others who may find interest Australian boxing history, circa 1860-1935.

"Hi to you all from Melbourne Australia

Here's a follow-up from an IBRO member who ordered a copy:

Hello Ray:

It always happens. After I sent you the email yesterday, the mail came and the book was in it. Wow, I think it is terrific. Where did all those great photos come from? How were they obtained? Whose collection contained most of them?

I saw the credits at the back. Sometimes in the future, I might want to contact some of them to get copies of the photos for various purposes. Who is the best one to speak with?

The overall designs are great too. It is a very attractive book.

Thank you for getting Arnold to sign it. Please thank Arnold once more for me.

I will close now but I really enjoyed the book. I looked through it 3 times yesterday in a leisurely manner. Today I will begin reading it carefully. My eagerness has been rewarded !!!

Below is a mailing list for a number of boxing folks that might be interested in your book. Not all the IBRO gentlemen have email addresses.

Ric,

Is this book titled "Heroes Of The Fancy"?.
If it is, then it's a great read, one of the best.

Lionel.
