allegedly needs to promote fury!

Have to say im the same as Bacca, I neither liked or disliked Fury before this whole charade, in the past ive defended his ability and choice of oppoennt. The one thing I cant defend are his actions over the past 3/4 days. He's come accross as a right tool. Pressure on Hennessy now to get Fury a decent opponent for December.
It doesnt show boxing ina great light either, and should the fight occur we really need a strong security team there to ensure the sport isnt tarnished. Hard enough to get boxing venues full as it is without having a 1970's football reputation tagged onto big fights.
Robert Smith has said the BBBoC are looking into it all.

Fury is a tit

Fury promotes himself! His antics and remarks make more of a splash than a poster or advert.john welsh wrote:allegedly needs to promote fury!

It's a route back for Audley! Have him fight Fury in Liverpool and for once the crowd will be behind him!Wales wrote:Can you imagine how hostile the crowd will be should the fight happen. Scousers and gypos wont mix well.

Not sure why anyone is saying it's funny, much less "comedic genius". I'm all for a bit of trash talk but essentially saying "you're gay and I'll knock you out" is about as creative as a Charlie Zelenoff response vid.

Re: Fury rant on Channel 5 at Price
The obvious point I was making was that Fury will be such a villain if he fights in Liverpool after his trash talk against Price and Bellew, thus the fans there will be rooting for anybody - even Audley Harrison - to knock him out.hurlock wrote:Yeah because Manchester is a million miles awayoliverfennell wrote:It's a route back for Audley! Well, exactly. Tyson Fury made a right prat of himself. And I don't see how anybody can see it differently.oliverfennell wrote:Not sure why anyone is saying it's funny, much less "comedic genius". I was a big fan, he's gone down a lot in my respect because of this last few days, there banter and then there is abuse.jBacca wrote:I've never really liked nor disliked Fury. I was always a price fan to boot

Come on Oliver, you can't say you didn't find his rant the slightest bit amusing? I mean he's hardly the second coming of Peter Sellers. It's not the Homophobia or his tepid threats of violence, it's the fact that he's such a fool and that he looks like a teenage Japanese skateboarder.oliverfennell wrote:Not sure why anyone is saying it's funny, much less "comedic genius". Re: Fury rant on Channel 5 at Price
That's not the same thing as him being a comedic genius. Bottom line is, he made a right tit-head of himself. Granted the best thing to do with the crap he was talking is to just laugh it off, but it don't change the fact he was acting like an idiot.ShadrachSimmo wrote:Come on Oliver, you can't say you didn't find his rant the slightest bit amusing? I assume you're joking, but I can actually see this happening.oliverfennell wrote:It's a route back for Audley! Lots have people have said that Harrison is finished & can't come back from this, but I heard that after Williams 1, Sprott 1 & Haye too.
He almost certainly will be back IMO & he will talk himself into a big fight of some description.
Harrison's like a massive bowel movement that you can't flush down the toilet, no matter how many times you pull the handle.
Re: Fury rant on Channel 5 at Price
I wouldn't be surprised if Audley did come back somehow, but I think people are getting really tired of him now. And at 40, he doesn't have that much left in him, surely.Syntax Error wrote:

When Audley was on the BBC, he had a massive fanfare, but there were doubters almost from his debut. I was somebody who watched all those early fights, wanted him to win and posted on his forum. But plenty of fans, particularly casual ones who expected him to be fighting Lennox Lewis from his second fight, were slagging him off. He was slammed by the press for a decade, and the more obvious it got he was struggling at the professional game, the louder it got.
Yet somehow, when he fought Haye, almost everybody forgot that they'd been slagging Audley off all this time, and the PPV sold to a lot of homes. People suddenly thought Audley had a chance of winning, for some reason. When he didn't, people felt let down by Audley again. And now this Price beating has basically underlined that even part-time fans aren't going to be fooled by him any more. (God knows why they were fooled in the Haye fight, let alone now.)
Saying all that, I think because he's so used to people slating him, he won't listen and will return for one more final final comeback. Let's hope it's not Tyson Fury on Channel Five, because that would undo the novelty of boxing being on terrestrial television for a lot of people.
It would mean he'd fought on BBC, ITV and Channel Five though.

Where has the plumber thing come from, has tyson just made that up?
Re: Fury rant on Channel 5 at Price
A few years ago (pre lottery funding I think), Liverpool City Council sponsored/gave jobs to amateur boxers Price, Smith and Bellew.Wales wrote: Where has the plumber thing come from, has tyson just made that up?
Reading between the lines they were just sponsored by the council, but to be politically correct they had to say that they also worked for the council - Price was described as an apprentice plumber (although I am not sure how much "work" they did ?).
Re: Fury rant on Channel 5 at Price
Nobody should be surprised by anything Fury does, he is as mad as two spoons, what about him bringing his own 'security' to the Chisora press conference, classic.

Never heard that one before. Every day is a school day.
