Tyson Fury fighting at Bluewater?

I have never posted on here so go easy please. I was at 'the Barn' in Clevedon for his last fight and left after 3 undercard fights due to the overly aggressive and bad atmosphere. There certainly didn't seem to be many security staff around and the venue seemed to be massively overcrowded. I have been to several fights before as well as numerous other sporting events and never felt more threatened.

Were you at the fight at Event City? It looked, from the tv at least, like there was quite a big disturbance going on during the fight.

I was yeah, at ringside on directly opposite side of the ring. The only people that considered it a disturbance were those I spoke to that seen it on TV. So I can only assume that it looked much worse on TV as the cameras were pointed directly on those rows.

The reality is that a couple, being 2, of his supporters got over excited and rushed to the ring apron when he got knocked down. Nothing happened really and they were just shouting at Fury, no one threw a slap or raised a hand and one of Fury's brothers told them to shift and they did, along with being ushered by security.

It might have appeared unseemly but there was no violence involved.

I Beg to differ , i was there in the cheaper seats as i came to support a lad who took the fight on the undercard at late notice (Leigh Wood), that event was a nightmare , people standing on the seats due to it not being a great venue for boxing caused quite a few aggitiated groups of people i saw a few punch ups , admittedly nothing hugely major but nonetheless they happened , and if im honest was the least enjoyable event ive ever attended , i couldnt tell you if they were 100% Fury fans but one would assume so considering he was boxing a canadian who i doubt had much travelling support .

not been annouced yet, but it won't be Toney, a few names mentioned have been Mormeck and Chagaev. Now i would pay to see Chagaev in the opposite corner, he gave Povetkin a good fight and for me it woulkd be a 50/50 fight against Fury

He also beat Valuev so you'd assume he wouldn't be all that bothered about Fury's height.

What was the issue with his hepatitis thing? I never bothered to read too far into it, I heard he apparently had it and immediately thought 'ok surely he cant box then' but then he kept getting fights.

I believe Valuev got out of having defend against Chagaev when he was his mandatory because of Chagaev's hepatitis. So I guess it is up to his opponents whether they want to fight him or not.

In JamesWilson's defence, you can tell just by watching Tyson Fury's fights on telly there's trouble. His venues since the Chisora fights have been so small, you can tell just by watching. There's been a couple of his fights on Channel Five when the whole of the front row has turned to watch something else happening. It's either a fight broken out, or he gets an unnatural amount of strippers at his fights.

It does make you wonder who the hell would wanna fight someone with that type of disease. I sure as hell wouldn't.

After reading this thread “Tyson Fury fighting at Bluewater” we feel on this occasion we would like to address some of your comments.


1. JamesWilson - Given that there tend to be riots at all of his fights I expect there aren't too many venues in the UK and Ireland willing to stage a fight of his.

JamesWilson – have you actually been to any of our events???? If so please explain the reason that you are implying that there tends to be riots.

Not at any point has any venue in the UK, Ireland or across the world rejected a Fury fight, in fact we have many venues approach us with regards to holding Hennessy Sports promoted Tyson Fury fights.

2. JamesWilson - Yes there have been huge rucks in the crowds at a few of his fights.

JamesWilson – Please enlighten us when and where??? – can you confirm that the rucks, as you call them have been instigated by Fury fans.

3. Old bones Ian - If the promoter scrimps on security thats what happens, all they seem interested in is keeping the expensive seats occupied.

Old bones Ian – we certainly don’t scrimp on security at any of our events, we use a top security company and in many cases have more SIA badged security than required.

The title of this tread is incorrect as we are still working on a date and venue for Tyson’s next fight.

Haha this made me chuckle. My mate was having dinner in Bluewater at the same time as DeGale's fight and mentioned a load of travellers started fighting. He wasn't even fighting and brought trouble down!!

I def wouldn't take a woman or a kid to one of his fights.
It seems more likely that HS Press has never been to a Fury fight if you take his reply as genuine.

I had mates working Glow that night and it kicked off big time in the car park! The security were more than happy to engage, and from first hand accounts they had a whale of a time!

If Fury does fight Price the I suspect there will be more fights in the crowd that night!
