Why don't you just watch the Tyson and Holyfield fights with ring walks and post fight interviews, that would be about 1 1/2 hours, the average length of a movie, and a good summation of his career.

because I've seen them already. :-?
Seriously, it's about as good and dramatic a story as you can get for a boxing film, like Rocky and Rocky 3 blended together

They did make a movie on HBO about Tyson's life and career. It featured a Tyson look-alike- seriously, alot of people mistook him for the real thing. It was on about 5 years ago. I think it still shows occasionally on the Classic Boxing channel.

Three fighters whose lives would make great movies are Bobby Chacon, Mathew Saad Muhammad and Johnny Tapia. Tapia's got a biog coming out so there maybe a chance for it to go further.

I think a movie about Jesse"boogie man" Furgeson would be interesting. His career defining fight with Mercer, who alledgedly tried to bribe him in the middle of his fight to the heavyweight title match it earned him with Riddick Bowe. What makes this underdog story so compelling was the fact that unlike Douglas or Braddock who were confident and eager to fight, I read some where that Jesse said knew he was way over his head, knew he had no shot of winning but went through with it anyway. It would be interesting to see the build up to the fight played out with Jesse's people amping him up all the while his anxiety and dread for the upcoming fight is eating him up inside.
How about the title, "Last stand of the boogie man" ?
Uh, maybe not.

I'm amazed that there hasn't been a film on Duran... From poverty to fame, riches and greatness, to shame, and finally back to redemption.

Frankie Durate had a great story... top contender becomes alcoholic, leaves boxing at his 'prime' then comes back after 6 years out and fights his way to a world title shot..... :box:

Hopkins might have a good rags to riches story.
