Witter: I will knock Frankie Gavin out early

Post by whiskey »

http://www.livefight.com/news.php?news_ ... =2012&m=10

"He’s an alright fighter. It’s a big fight for him but I just plan to break him down. He has fast hands on the inside but that’s all I really see. He doesn’t have anything else I’m worried about. He’s not got a punch to worry me. Obviously everyone has power if they catch you right but he’s not a big puncher. This is just another fight for me."

He also concedes the hatton fight wont ever happen.

Anyone think this could be a stoppage win for Witter ? I've not seen Frankie getting off the deck every fight and can take a dig. But Witter is perhaps the most seasoned fighter he has faced to date. I'm definitely thinking it goes to points myself.

Wide points win for Frankie in a stinker of a fight. Not one I'm looking forward too tbh. Hope they prove me wrong.

Cant see Witter pulling that off.
Think Gavin will be out to impress and could stop him assuming he is in proper nick.

Gavin will have a ball with the time wittier will give him & I think witters timing is no where near what it used to be. It's going to be tough for Gavin in the later stages where big single shots are going in. I think witter will be gun & will have to take a lot of chances & Gavin don't have the power to deter him but skills to make him pay in the pts department.
Both rusty & should be intresting maybe a few cuts

Wittier stinks the place out pretty much every time he fights, this will be another shocker or holding, awkwardness and not a lot clean. Gavin on points as Witter is canny enough not to get stopped but the only time people like the way he fights is when they're thinking about it, not watching it. He's one of those fighters that gets better in the imagination, then you remember he's awful to watch.

Gavin really doesn't have anything but Witter is so far gone Frankie should win this.

So he's going to break him down early? How does that work, exactly?

I think Gavin will wear Witter down, landing regularly and cleanly, before the old man quits on his stool, late on.

Junior is 70% of what he was at his peak, judge for yourselves if thats enough to beat Gavin, bit i dont think Gavin is 100% of what he could be! It could be an interesting fight.

I'm not that impressed by Gavin, if he was facing a prime Witter i'd have no hesitation in prediciting a win for Witter, but as it is father time is on him and if i'm honest i have not seen his last few fights. If as Rhino suggests he's 70% of what he was, i'm thinking even that might be enough to pull of a victory here.

I have yet to see this 'amazing' talent that Gavin is meant to have, but I don;t really know much about the sport . Some rave about him.

A 70% Witter might have had enough but the last time I saw him I reckon Witter was at about 40% of his peak.

Gavin by default.

The only way Witter puts Gavin to sleep is boring him into unconsiousness. Expect a messy fight with very little clean punching.
