Ruslan Chagaev v Mike Perez - December 1st

Post by turbostar »

Hell yeah :bag: :OhYes:

I reckon Chagaev is shot and Perez wins this easy. Apparently the winner gets a shot at Povetkin.

Perez hasn't fought anyone and has been out for what a year? It's wrong if he gets a world title fight so easily he can't be ranked higher than Fury, Price, Adamek, Arreola etc.

Fury and Price clearly have no intention of fighting for a world title any time soon. Their respective promoters want to pad their records for as long as possible.

Adamek and Arreola have had their chances already. Besides, if Perez beats Chagaev it will be a better win than anything either Price or Arreola have done.

Would they turn down a fight against a quite possibly shot Chagaev for a shot at Povetkin's fake title? We're not talking the Klitschko's here who I agree that they'd both run a mile from (quite rightly so)

Povetkin vs Fury would be fun.

Chagev has stated he isn't fit and doesn't have a coach which is the only reason he turned down a Fury fight for December

You under-rate Chagaev at your peril. He has only lost to Klitschko and Povetkin. And he has beaten some really handy opposition. Definately not an easy assignment for Perez who hasn't fought in ages. I reckon if Perez gets extended and has to rely on more than his power then it could be a difficult night for him.

Good fight for Perez to get some rounds. Chagaev has never delivered at top level and has been fat and possibly ailing for some time.

Perez to outwork Chagaev and hopefully become more active. He is a rare 'fun' heavyweight.

Last time out he needed 7 rounds to put away a can who Tom Dallas starched in one. He's done.

Yeah without any proper training. If he comes in under 235 I expect Perez to have a rough night.

Agree 100% with this.

Perez doesn't have much choice but to go for it. He doesn't have the options of English, British, Irish (I might be wrong), commonwealth, European titles to chase. He's one of those lads that is simply too dangerous for little reward.

Great fight if true!

HEAD says: Chagaev wins an HUGE points decision
HEART says: Perez blasts the fading Olympian/World Title challenger out quickly and makes a statement!

My head is almost always right, sadly.

Head says Perez wipes him out.

Heart say I find it hard to warm to Perez or get excited about his career.

Perez will bash him around and Chagaev will probably quit on his stool again having failed to make a fight out of it.

I know what you mean. It's hard to put your heart into someone whose own heart doesn't seem to be in it.
