Corbetts are quite a well known bookies. Then again, I used to bet on raindrops down a window pane, so I've heard of most of them!

They are absolutely full of shit on this one. It is NOT the industry standard whatsoever.

If you ever like a punt on tennis, look for the small print in those. I've known people have a good few hundred quid on a player who is winning 6-2, 6-0, 3-0 and the other lad pulls out injured...and then doesn't get paid out because it's voided.

Bookies are always trying to 'shave' the punter.

This may be a case of them losing alot on that night, and get told to deny all claims, unless they keep on insisting with you. I heard that's what insurance company's do.

You've definetly been fucked over though, hope you get it sorted :TU:

 now we just need to invent our own boxing commision and put loads of cash on high odds fighters to become champs and award them our belt

All anyone needs to do is get a letter from the body that sanctioned the sporting event and they clarify the result and you are home and dry because that is what the regulatory body will ask for and once you have that they cannot argue. :TU:

Another one to be careful of is that, for example in a rugby match, the bet is only valid for the 80mins initial period, and many don’t state this, but only in the small print.

E.g if it’s a cup game, and Leicester & Wasps are 18-18 after 80mins, and then Leicester score a try in extra time to win the match… you lose your bet. I’ve had this happen to me before and it’s bloody annoying.

I’ve bet on e.g. ‘Leicester to win’ …under ‘MATCH OUTCOME’ ….but because they won in extra time it didn’t count, so bet result = lose……
