Carl Froch Ringside Special

Post by dbf »

Just wondering what people thought of this?

Was a bit too slow for my liking but appreciate that it was going for the less flashy in your face style that has been the norm in recent years. Think Sky are still trying to find the balance between HBO and Showtimes two styles (24/7 and 2 days compared to the fight camp more documentary style).

They've bitten a few things from showtime - more use of DSLR shots, more than likely 7d, and less or minimal music, handheld camera/dslr in the crowd etc. And to a certain extent it works. Not quite up there with the Lennox/Holyfield Doc by the BEEB or some of the the stuff Gabriel Clarke did on Froch at ITV but getting there.

But Sky have the budget, more than anyone, and need to innovate as opposed to imitate. Would be good to see something new.
