Is there anyone who can commentate or be a pundit who doesn't end up having a boxrec British forum assasination squad against them?

Duke McKenzie. Glenn McCrory. Johnny Nelson. Steve Bunce. Ronald Macintosh. Jim Watt. Barry McGuigan.

Nothing but whingeing on this board, when it comes to commentators.

Bob Mee seems to be well loved and Steve Holdsworth is always fun

And people do disagree on occasion. All the above without exception have their defenders on here, and rightly so.

Other than Watt and McGuigan those are all very fair targets.

Ever see any of your 'assassination squads' gunning for Ian Darke or Bob Mee? Those two do an excellent job. Darkie specifically has the closest sensibilities to the classic old school commentators. He is a rarity.

The worst commentator ever must be that west country bloke who did Danny Williams vs Christian Hammer on Eurosport. He was so bad it was unreal. He didn't seem to comprehend Danny was a shot fighter on a long losing run, and seemed to be blaming his dreadful performance on him "not wanting it as much" as Hammer, and "he for whatever reason doesn't seem like he wants to be there". He was outrageously uninformed.

I've just cancelled allegedly, mainly because I just can't stand Bunce or Rawling anymore.

I've also cancelled Sky. I don't watch any sport other than boxing, and 25 sheets for one show every two weeks is a bit much.

I shall watch it round my mates house, preferably with the sound off, and some Stockhausen on the stereo.

Yep. Same bloke said Danny was known for always turning up in great shape.

I'd use Ian Darke on his own, no need to have an ex-pro commentating with them, how Jim Watt has been a commentator as long as he has staggers me, I've got the upmost respect for him as a boxer but commentator? He's a moaning c*nt, I've never heard a commentator in any sport so negative and so lacking in enthusiasm it was fatal trying to stay up to watch a US fight when he was commentating because he could bore you to sleep.
