Glenn Johnson V's George Kalid Jones

Post by Foggy »

Does anybody know the situation of this fight, it is scheduled as a IBF Light Heavy eliminator, so does this mean that the winner becomes the mandatory challenger and must fight Clinton in his next defence. This would seem unfair to Clinton seen as though he just faced his mandatory fighting Gonzalez.

I personally would like to see a Woods - Johnson 3, but any ideas on what this Jones is like and how Clinton would fair against him ???

Jones has been on Channel 5 a good few times and is a solid pro - good all round skills, but not quite top 'world' class. Would be a legitimate defence.

His fight with Glen Johnson will probably be a good one - two very workmanlike pros.

If Jones fights to the best of his ability he might sneak a tight points win, Johnson won't improve much now .

Good to see the Heavy Tony Thompson on the undercard, has been out of action for a while now. I still think he can do something at world level
