Where is this new version of Witter coming from then? He hasn't been impressive in 5 years.
It could be a very ugly fight, but i can't see Gavin losing

Didn't realise that Gavin had a good bit of height advantage for this one. Witter looks in great nick but after watching the weigh-in, Gavin seems confident, didn't get riled by the playful joke about shaving and i reckon he'll dominate to a points win

It is all about which Witter turns up. Simple as.
Jessi,
Have you seen the Gavin v Woodhouse fight ?
If not take a look. You might reconsider.
If you have - well I can only say remove the rose tinted.
x2 Woodhouse gave him a fright and he even admits that himself,

i think witter can do this

Gavin was a different animal back then. He was fleshy and under performing as a fighter. He is completely differnt now and living up to his potential. If Gavin fought Woodhouse now it would not go the distance. If Witter is thinking Gaving will be like he was on the Woodhouse night then he is in for a shock.

We'll see, i'm looking forward to it now strangely, whereas before i thought i wouldn't, and it beats watching eastenders for sure. :TU:

Gavin never been in trouble am or pro
Kindelan appeared to rock Frankie a little as a young am.

Frankie looks in tremendous shape for tonight - he is no lightweight that much is certain.

Junior is in for a hard night IMO.

Kindelan caught Frankie flush and slightly off balance he kind of stumbled back towards the rope and got back on with it no problem at all !
Gavin won his last 49 amateur fights in a row and the vast majority of them were at international level all around the world, it would of been interesting to see how he got on against kindelan 3 years after he lost to him !
Gavins chin is granite and his accuracy is frightening, he will do a proper job on witter and people will start taking note from today ! :TU:

Thanks mate. Apparently Witter is now best price 4/1 to win. That seems big to me as if he turns up Gavin will have a tough night.

Yes I admit both Frankie and Kevin have been my favorite, I honestly had to question mitchells heart and commitment after katsidis, and I to had to do similar with Frankie after woodhouse, the difference is I'm from where Mitchell is from and it was always a case of local hero, although Mitchell was a great amateur and I still think is going to turn his pro career around Gavin is special very special, I've followed him from his early amateur days live no where near him and can just tell through his voice his love for boxing, if Frankie wants to go all the way he will do.

I think thats the key right there mate...the big one being the word IF. Tonight will be a good measure of where he is at, and like i said earlier, i wasn;t looking forward to this but i am now for some reason.

Yep crazyboy totally agree, IF is a big word for many boxing prospects, but for Frankie it's everything ! He has to win in style or at least convincingly and be very active next year.
I'm going to enjoy the ride either way and I know you will too :TU:

Witter has proved himself capable of blasting British level men clean out (though a long time ago); he's not the force he was but he would have beaten Frankie when he was in his prime and in good fashion too. Frankie had a fanatstic amateur career and turned pro with all the advantages; he is a class act but hasn't really put it together v anyone really noteworthy. There have been reasons (excuses) for both fighters not showing proper form; I think that if Gavin has his mind fully on the job he can win the fight; I can't see it being an exhibition for him though; anyone sparring Brook on a regular basis is going to be ready for a British level fighter. This is not an easy match but if it goes to points there's no way an undefeated record will go.

Gavin SHOULD win this fight no problem - well when I say no problem I think he might fall into Witter's trap and it could becoming a dull dull fight but he should be too quick, too sharp, too fit and too hungry for Witter at this stage.

120-108 or 118-110 Gavin.... in a dull one where he Gavin gets some rounds just for being less negative.

Jessi,
With respect mate, fan or not, your earlier post said Gavin NEVER troubled, pro or am.
Now you say you were questioning his heart after the Woodhouse fight.
Make your mind up pal !!!
Hope it's a decent fight.

Honestly dont know if Frankie has got the power to dent Witter off the front foot, as the Vet is surely going to spend the fight in retreat mode looking for some wild counters.

Frankie by pts 118 - 110
stylistically i think you've nailed it, Gavin will be taking centre-ring and Witter tracing some crazy patterns around him/ in and out with lunges.

someone's getting nailed by a headclash here too, I reckon.
