Sparrow Freeman was a lightweight with a record of: 76(9) wins - 46(12) losses -33 draws. He fought 155 times between the years of 1978-1985 and was basically a human punching bag, fighting usually 4 to 6 rounders, most of which went the distance.

I saw him fight a number of times at various League Clubs and he was too game for his own well-being. The accumulation of punches did him no good as his speech was slurred and many at ringside thought he was "punch-drunk"!

I won more than he lost by the looks so good on him for that!

I have no issues with guys like Sparrow Freeman so long as they are fighting under there on free will and come and give it an honest go who are we to deny him that opportunity? Sure alot of guys like him just enjoy a good stoush and a chance to pick up some cash, without them our sport wouldnt be what it is.
